Alexis Notte studied molecular chemistry and liquid crystals at Oxford University and whilst studying designed a polymer loom. The RlCb30 consructor or Resistable light and Compactable Barrier constructor and later the RlCbL13. These complex polymer looms allowed mass produced polymer based products to be produced, including aircraft parts, low friction joints and large water pipes. After failing to recieve grant money to continue his work Notte decided to take his product to the comercial market. At first approaching glazing and aerospace companies and failing to recieve any significant interest, Notte decided to enter the police force and "leave all ideas that even had anything remotely to do with chemistry well alone". After spending several years within the riot responce division of We

  • Alexis Notte studied molecular chemistry and liquid crystals at Oxford University and whilst studying designed a polymer loom. After spending several years within the riot responce division of West Midlands police force Notte noticed the built in failings with the standered issue riot shields. The low layer density meant that the sheilds were brittle and vunerable to all small arms fire. Whilst testing his polymer looms Notte had noticed the apparent strength and flexibility of his product. He tested the product in on the job tests, which the police force agreed to under strict conditions. One notable test resulted in his partial decapitation and loss of sight in both eyes. He found that with between 500 and 2000 layers of Polycarbonate the shield became almost entirely resistant to small arms fire. It was light weight but protected the carrier from all but the most powerful attacks. (for more infor go to riot shields)
