Reiner has been spoofed with two Muppet characters. A caricature of the director appeared in episode 103 of Muppets Tonight, conducting screen tests for When Harry Met Sally with Billy Crystal. The puppet was reused for the Frogketeer Robbie, featured in episode 105, in a to The Mickey Mouse Club. Both characters also made reference to his role as Meathead on All in the Family. The son of Carl Reiner, Rob won two Emmy Awards for his role of Michael Stivic. At one time he was attached to direct the feature film adaptation of Into the Woods, an adaptation of Stephen Sondheim's musical which never went into production. Reiner has made cameos in Throw Momma from the Train (with Danny DeVito), The First Wives Club (with Bette Midler, Goldie Hawn, Sarah Jessica Parker and Stockard Channing), Primary Colors (with John Travolta), and Woody Allen's Bullets over Broadway. Other credits include co-writing the first episode of Happy Days, guest hosting Saturday Night Live, guest starring as himself on Hannah Montana and The Simpsons, and appearances on Shelley Duvall's Tall Tales & Legends, Frasier, The Odd Couple, and Batman.
