| - Hysh is the white wind of magic. It is the wind invoked to cast spells from the Lore of Light, the magic of both physical and spiritual illumination. Hysh is frequently referred to as the Solar Wind. Hysh is infused with light, so wherever there is light, there is also Hysh. The wind is strengthened by the state of mental enlightenment and spiritual illumination. In the Colleges of Magic, Hysh will reveal itself only to the wise and most sagacious would-be wizards. Hysh is described as a fickle energy, its power may be used to heal, blind, sear or exorcise. Because of its diverse applications, immense care must be taken to reliably control Hysh. Hierophants must be disciplined, determined and strong of will. The white wind is the combination of many colours and also "intangible and all permeating", making it the most difficult wind to bind to one's will. Spells which harness Hysh often involve the use of elaborate ancient rituals and grand ceremonies. With regard to spells, Hysh can heal in its aspect as the solar life-giving energy, as an intrinsic part of light it may be used to blind (through intensity) and sear (through concentration), but the most curious of its applications is abjuration. More advanced Hierophants can banish the corruption of the chaos by shining the pure energies of Hysh into the possessed, driving the spirit and its ruinous magic back to the realm of chaos. In the Empire, Hysh is the wind harnessed by the College of Light's arcane battle alters, the Luminarks of Hysh. Through the use of an Orb of Sorcery, solar energy is condensed by a series of lenses and then fired at a target.
