When your ship is landed on a planet, it is subject to the laws and regulations of that world. Your ship is not an independent domain where the captain is king. If you have illegal cargo aboard your vessel while on a planet where such cargo is deemed inappropriate and your ship gets searched, then you are facing charges, whether you like it or not. In the future, save yourself some problems. If you want to trade black market stuff? Awesome, but remember that you are playing with fire and complaining if you get burned won't really solve anything.

Under real circumstances, in any port anywhere, it stands to reason that not all ships get searched. It's impossible. We simply assume player ships don't get searched most of the times. That does not mean it won't happen, though. So how to avoid problems? Don't have items that are illegal in a place out in the open when on that place. Simple. Get rid of it or pay to get a special smuggling hold installed on your ship. The +vinfo system is currently busted up, so legality on some items is a bit sketchy. Keller is working on a simple list to make things easier. This does not give people the license to step outside the realm of logic. Specialist embryos in a planet where Specialist trade is illegal? Trouble. Certain psychoactive drugs in Sivad? Probably trouble. In the future, save yourself some problems. If you want to trade black market stuff? Awesome, but remember that you are playing with fire and complaining if you get burned won't really solve anything.
