The Land of Deception (不幸の国,Fukou no Kuni) is an island located in the Land of Water.The Land is the homeland of the Ninja Jesters and ruled by the Lord of Laughs (LoL).It is legally owned by the LoL and is under the protection of the Land of Water.Because of this most Ninja Jesters affiliate themselves with Kirigakure even though their land and village is a neutral faction.However,with the launch of the Fifth Great Shinobi World War,the Land of Deception has been pulled into supporting it's ally the Land of Water against their enemies.They will appear in the fanon Naruto: Atarashii Gyouten.

The Land of Deception is named so for a reason as the island is covered in a thick fog during all times of the year.This makes it impossible to manuever the island safely without the help of something such as the Byakugan.The Ninja Jester village, the Village of Laughter is located in an unknown location on this island and the only way to encounter it is if you follow a map or wander around until you encounter the village.The clown-nin are the only ones who know how to traverse the country safely and the location of their village yet they only use this knowledge to lead their guests unknowingly deeper into the island and farther away from the village until they are walking around in circles.Some Kirigakure ninja can be encountered here due to the clown-nins' apparent loyalty to them.
