A light squadron was a formation of the Imperial Navy commanded by an admiral. The light squadron was generally configured in one of two ways. The first configuration consisted of two attack lines, a skirmish line, and a recon line, for a force of between twenty and thirty ships. The second configuration was composed of two recon lines, a skirmish line, and a pursuit line, for a force totalling between twenty-five and thirty-five ships.
