The Prussian War (German: Französischen Krieg, French: Guerre prussienne), also known as the Prussian War of Aggression, was a war fought in 1856 to 1857 within the Holy Roman Empire, concerning influence over the German states. Emperor William I of Prussia had declared war on Austria and France, in an effort to unify the German states under the Prussian crown.
