- Sonic Adventure ist der erste 3D-Platfomrer mit Segas Maskottchen und gehört zu den Launch-Titeln des Dreamcast. Bei erscheinen galt es als schönster Platformer und konnte durch abwechslungsreiches Gameplay überzeugen. Einige Jahre nach dem eigentlichem Release wurde das Spiel unter dem Namen Sonic Aventure DX zunächst für Nintendos Gamecube und später für den PC umgesetzt. Der Re-release beinhaltete rudimentäre Veränderungen wie verbesserte Charaktermodelle und einen Missionsmodus. September 2010 wurde Sonic Adventure über Xbox Live und PlayStation Network ein weiteres mal veröffentlicht. Bei dieser Version handelt es sich ebenfalls um Sonic Adventure DX.

- Sonic Adventure is a 3D Sonic the Hedgehog game for the Sega Dreamcast that was released in 1998. This was Sonic's first true transistion to the 3D world. As the Sega Dreamcast needed awesome launch titles, Sonic Advneture was made. Sega put a lot of effort into the game, and despite it not being entirely finished, many hail it as one of Sonic's finest games. The game is divided up into two stages: Action Stages, and Adventure Fields. The division of Action Stages and Adventure Fields was a serious departure from all previous Sonic games.

It was the first game in the main Sonic the Hedgehog series since Sonic & Knuckles in 1994, and was the best-selling game on the Dreamcast.
- Sonic Adventure is the sixth installment in the Sonic the Hedgehog series. Taking place on a fictional island connected to a city, the game follows the adventures of the protagonist Sonic the Hedgehog. An ancient entity named Chaos is released by series villain Doctor Eggman and plots to steal seven Chaos Emeralds for the entity. Sonic is joined by Miles "Tails" Prower, his best friend, Amy Rose, Sonic's love interest, Knuckles the Echidna, who plans to reassemble the Master Emerald, Big the Cat, a cat who attempts to rescue his frog friend, and E-102 Gamma, one of Eggman's robots.
