The 1951 Poor Man's 500 was a Grand National (now Sprint Cup) event held at Canfield Speedway on May 30, 1951. It was called this because the dirt track event stood in stark contrast to the grand Indianapolis 500. Eventual Indy 500 driver Marshall Teague dominated the event, holding off Tim Flock by three laps for the victory. Eventual season champion Herb Thomas finished 4th. Stats
