In Baldur's Gate, these boots are gained when the assassin Nimbul fails at his attempt to kill the group at the start of chapter three. In the Enhanced Edition, another pair of these boots can be acquired if Meklin is killed. In Baldur's Gate II, a pair of these boots are dropped by Reti, one of the kidnappers who buried Tirdir.
