A previous EX120 version was sold in the US market in 1989 through 1991. The major difference between the two is that this European version has a plywood body, while the US version has a solid basswood body. This EX120 features a plywood body mated to a one-piece maple neck with a traditional neck joint with a metal plate. It has a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with dot position markers. Other components include dual Ibanez EX humbucking pickups and a synchronized tremolo bridge. This EX120 was discontinued after 1992.
