  • Qanda is a Rannian and was chosen from the desert planet to protect Space Sector 0430 as a member of the Green Lantern Corps. However, Qanda's opposition to the ongoing Rann/Thanagar War pulled her away from the Corps and she never completed her training. Instead, Qanda left the Corps in the hopes that she could negotiate a secret treaty with a representative of those Thanagarians who had likewise grown weary of war. Before the two sides could meet, it was agreed that an impartial mediator was needed. Given that the war had raged across many Sectors, there were few worlds that had gone untouched by the conflict. The parties needed an arbitrator who had no personal interest in the war; one who would not be affected by the killings and destruction perpetrated by both sides. Qanda enlisted the help of the Green Lantern G'Nort to find a person who was so unsympathetic and self-absorbed that he would not be moved by the tragedies of the war. G'Nort immediately thought of Guy Gardner. Discharged from the Corps, Qanda met with Gardner and her Thanagarian counterpart at Guy's superhero themed bar, Warriors. No actual negotiation took place as the two women suffered through a number of Guy's sexual advances before the meeting was disrupted by the appearance of the psychopathic Tormock, a race of shape shifters feared throughout the universe for slaughtering entire races in the most sadistic ways possible. The Tormock had hunted down and destroyed the last of the Vuldarian race, and now sought to kill Guy Gardner for his link to the Vuldarians and past victory over the Tormock. The heroes managed to fight off the Tormock, but not before Warriors was destroyed in the battle. Ultimately, Qanda's mission to broker a treaty was a failure, as Guy's desire for revenge over his lost bar superseded any concerns he had for mediating a treaty. The group defeated the Tormock and stopped a massive neuroviral mass that had grown out of the tons of dead viscera left floating in space as a result of the war. Although Guy's willpower stopped the mass and saved her life, Qanda blamed him for wasting everyone's time and considered the peace process a complete failure. Her hysterics were interrupted by the Thanagarian major who slapped Qanda across her face, silencing the Rannian and putting the final nail in any attempt to broker a treaty. Qanda has not been seen since the failed peace process and it is presumed that she has returned to Rann.
