  • Bart Crowley is a TV reporter who also happened to be the Dead Rose Slasher serial killer, or more accurately a copycat of the real one. Crowley requested to the Metro Police Department that he receive the transcripts of the Dead Rose Slasher case. Detective Quinton Shard then supplied him with redacted documents relating to it. However, Sharp had missed a vital place for redaction, causing Crowley to deduce how the serial killer killed his victims. Seeing it as an opportunity to boost his career, he decided to adopt the serial killer's identity, ensuring he'd be there to cover the event once the murder was discovered to report on it. He eventually was found out after a joint investigation by the MPD and NCIS discovered that he had been copying the (then-long deceased) Dead Rose Slasher, with Ned Dorneget confirming that Crowley was indeed left-handed like the serial killer. During his coverage of the third victim, Sharp and NCIS Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs arrived and confronted him with the damning evidence when telling him about finding a lead and arrested him. To add insult to injury, they also ensured that his arrest and the evidence was also taped during his broadcast, exposing him to his entire audience and presumably destroying Crowley's career for good.
