Lil' Gum Shoe is an upcoming pop-up book for children conceived and written by Papen County's number one private investigator Emerson Cod. Emerson claims that it is a work of fiction about a young girl who tries to find her father, Big Gum Shoe, from whom she has been taken. In reality, Emerson plans to publish it in hopes that his daughter will see it, because it contains clues to where he is. So far, it has been rejected by many publishers, mostly because of its storyline. Emerson's mother, Calista Cod, made some suggestions to him about changing the storyline from being about a girl looking for her father to being about what a great a father Emerson would be. In the penultimate episode, the book gets published.
