| - Momentary Combos are a gameplay mechanic present in Street Fighter EX3. A Momentary Combo is an automatic cancel from a special attack to another, by pressing any button with very precise timing. If done correctly, the special attack performed will be quickly canceled into a determined special, and a small green flash will appear. Each character has two special attacks assigned as Momentary Combos, one with Image:Arcade Button Punch.png and the other with Image:Arcade Button Kick.png. However, the timing is very strict, and it is not possible to cancel a move into the same move.

Additionally, a Surprise Blow can be used in place of the special attack for the Momentary Combo by pressing Image:Arcade-Button-MPunch.png + Image:Arcade-Button-MKick.png when the first special hits. Some attacks, such as Zangief's Glowing Fist or Doctrine Dark's KILL Blade, cannot be used under normal circumstances and only be used as Momentary Combos. Ace does not have any Momentary Combos, possibly due to his customizable moveset.
