Karl Schafft was a German military intelligence agent during World War II, and a frequent opponent of Lord Peter Flint, the British agent codenamed Warlord. Schafft was not a Nazi but a deeply honourable man who served his country while not necessarily agreeing with its governments policies, and he and Flint had a grudging mutual respect which prevented them from killing each other and, on occasion, even led to them working together in a common cause.
