Then Alexander came to Phoenicia, on his way to liberate the lands from Persian rule. At first Hasdrabal hated Alexander and what he had done to the once mighty Persian Empire. The Persian Empire had united the area and now after Alexander’s death the land was once again divided.

He was full of knowledge and was a veteran commander of Alexander’s army. The others lacked a certain degree of charisma and knowledge. Seleucus was seen as a brute, The Antigonids under the young Demetrius seem to be in a hard spot, and geographically they are caught between Egypt and the Seleucids. So he came to Alexandria, near the end of Ptolemy I’s reign. He entered the service of Pharaoh in his majesty’s royal guard unit. Before Ptolemy I’s death, Hasdrabal was promoted to General, and placed with Egypt’s security force. Under the stern and mysterious Minister Djedi. Under the new Pharaoh, Ptolemy II, despite a few troubles with plague and a less then desirable war, Hasdrabal maintained his command in Egypt’s military. As Ptolemy sails to Abydos to get married, Hasdrabal was tracking down a spy that fled Alexandria heading east. Recently returned to Alexandria.
