A large black dog the size of a calf in folklore from the Westmorland area of England. It had shape-shifting powers. It was one of the Black Dogs which appeared as an omen of death, along with Barghest, Guytrash, Padfoot, Mauthe Doog. He was also occasionally seen as benevolent, helping farmers round up their herd.
