| - Emerald lifts herself up off the ground. Getting onto her feet, she takes a boxing stance and simply waits to confront her enemies. Emerald: Never fought all three of you at once before… Virus steps down the gravel path. His hands are folded, while his stance shows professionalism. Emerald takes this as a surprise, especially by having a new costume. Virus: From this day forward we declare independence from the Triad. We’ll be the ones with free reign on this city! And you, Emerald, are the one who is the only obstacle! Emerald says nothing. She's burning with rage. Termite: You’re outnumbered, fool. We’re like a bundle of sticks. Perhaps when we were separated, we could be broken. But united? We’re a mighty ax. Emerald thought about it for a moment. Emerald: You all hurt that detective, didn't you? You all are mindless creatures! Virus: Mindless? We lured you into our trap. I think that alone shows our intellect. Megan, kill her. Ms. Matter floats down onto the gravel. Wiping her hair out of her face, she stays completely silent. Virus lifts his clawed hand in the air. Ms. Matter becomes cloud and makes her way toward Emerald. Emerald starts to feel the air becoming thicker and harder for her to breath. Meanwhile, Termite and Virus already have breathing apparatuses in their costumes. Virus: Don’t think us planning this makes us any less weak, Emerald! Emerald, of course, isn’t one to go down without a fight. She runs through the clouds, but Termite simply punches her down to the ground. Virus picks up Fetch’s mask from the bag. Virus inspects it, and tosses it to the side. The air gets thinner and thinner for Emerald as the cloud gets thicker and thicker. Emerald: (I have to have some way to breathe in this toxic air!) Termite picks Emerald up by the neck, and uses that to support her position as he punches her in the stomach repeatedly. Termite: How’s that air holding up? As Termite is punching her, out of the very little concentration she had left, she creates a rather sharp crystal edge. Then, before Termite throws another punch, she jams it into Termite’s breathing apparatus. Termite starts to gasp for air, but realizes that’s a mistake. Termite: Mataline… Please, reconfigure yourself... Virus: No! We need to kill her! Nothing can get in the way of the plan! Emerald looks through the clouds and notices fluxes. Termite, still gasping for air, doesn’t notice Emerald pressing upon the antennae in his helmet. One of the heat lasers goes off, and hits some of the gas. Ms. Matter gives out a mighty scream. Emerald keeps blasting the cloud until Ms. Matter cowers back into her normal self. Termite finally retrieves air, and smacks Emerald. Emerald tumbles on the concrete floor. Termite proceeds to kick her over and over. Emerald jabs a crystal into his armor, which pierces his leg. AAAAAAAUGH! Ms. Matter’s body struggles to keep itself solidified. However, she sneaks onto Emerald as the woman in green tries to get up. The floor becomes slippery, making Emerald have a hard time with her endeavor. Virus takes this as a chance. The Virus lunges onto Emerald and stabs the distracted hero with his needles. Emerald, however, jerks her body, cracking Virus’s arm. Then, swinging her body around Virus, she pushes him off of her and gets the needles out of her body. It makes a tear on her back. Termite limps, but sprays acid at Emerald. Emerald quickly crystallizes, destroying some her suit. Ms. Matter tugs Emerald’s leg with an arm extending from a puddle. Emerald falls flat on her face. Then, Ms. Matter wraps her arms around Emerald’s neck and bends her body further and further. Emerald defends herself by turning her back into a thick layer of crystal. Ms. Matter tries to bend further, but cannot bend the diamond. Termite gets up from the ground slowly, and projects a laser at her back, making the crystal on it disintegrate. Then, Ms. Matter continues the process. Emerald uses all of her strength to resist. Virus finds himself to have fallen next to the Fetch mask. He tries to touch it, but gets terrified of the dark essence coming from it. Then, he looks back at Emerald. Virus: (This is important to her for some reason…) Emerald begins to cough due to the illness invading her body. She becomes weaker and weaker. The villains, however, are still willing to put up a fight. Virus raises the mask in the air Virus: I bet you want this, don’t you? Emerald grunts in response. Virus tosses it in the stream. The mask sinks into the stream like a rock. Emerald begins to sweat. Termite punches the back of her head, slamming Emerald’s face into the ground. Termite: Now, we need to get rid of her source of power. Emerald’s hands curl into fists as she lays on the concrete. Her face is warm and bloody. Her vision is blurred. Her body is shaking and her suit is filled with sweat. The sounds of her adversaries fill her head. With the shouting, Emerald’s head begins to beat. Yet, something else in her head says otherwise. Stephanie raises her head, her arms still shaking. Termite’s hand reaches for Emerald’s necklace. But as he’s about to grab it, his arm is snatched by a bloodied glove. Emerald crushes Termite’s armor, proceeding to hurt his arm. Termite cries in pain. Then, she shoves him into a bunch of cinder blocks. Emerald then focuses hard, and produces a long, crystal blade. Ms. Matter tries to trap Emerald as she becomes a cylinder, but Emerald cuts it into two with a sword. Termite grabs a cinder block and throws it towards Emerald, but she destroys it with her fist. Then, the vengeful Emerald jumps in the air and hits Termite over the head. He’s knocked out cold, instantly. Virus pulls the trigger to fire his gun at Emerald, but she just projects crystal shards and throws it at the gun. Virus’s gun explodes in his hands, injuring him. Virus and Termite down, Ms. Matter remained the most powerful and challenging to Emerald. Ms. Matter: Fine. I’ll kill you myself and get this done and over with! Their plan was pathetic anyways… Ms. Matter dives her body toward Emerald’s mouth, but Emerald reflects the stream of liquid. Ms. Matter tries to surround herself around Emerald and solidify, but Emerald remembers her spare Frozen Nitrogen pellets and flings them at Ms. Matter. It freezes her in an instant. Before Ms. Matter can try to heat up, Emerald punches her, shattering into pieces. Then, Emerald picks up the pieces and tosses her into the willamette river. There, Ms. Matter flows away, having a difficult time assembling herself. Virus attempts to get back up, but his hands are burned. Virus: Augh. Ugh… I knew somewhere, in the back of my head, we’d be defeated this easily… Virus removes his mask. Emerald looks upon his face for the first time. Kevin: Look at this face, Miss. This is a face of defeat. I-I’ve been defeated ever since this transformation got the better of me. Emerald stays silent. Kevin: My life was ruined. So was Mataline’s. As was Dwarn’s. We are some type of… ruined trio. Emerald looks off into the distance, across the river to see Johnson Technology Corporation. Emerald: You did the right thing leaving from the Triad. They set that explosion up on purpose. THEY ruined you. Kevin is silent for a moment, and simply laughs. Kevin: How ironic, Ms. Barmms. Emerald pauses. Kevin: You… You need to leave. The Triad will know of my declaration against them. The Overseer will want me dead. Dwarn and I will have to defend ourselves. Emerald: You’ll probably die. Kevin: Ms. Barmms, I’m already a dead man. Take this equipment off of me, and I’ll die. My life is ruined. I’ll forever be the villain. Virus pushes the mask to Emerald. Kevin: Be my opposite, and save your brother. Take this vial, too. It should provide a cure to the disease I made you. I created it just in case- In case one of my allies was injected instead. Emerald takes the mask out of the water, and runs up the gravel path. Virus coughs up blood, and begins to blackout. Emerald picks up her clothes and makes it to the Marion County Courthouse. She changes her clothes and brings the police certification and the mask into the courtroom. As Stephanie comes through the court doors, she looks at the proceedings. Then, she drops the evidence and papers. Prosecutor Bailways was having a heart attack, and Carolina was leaning over Bailway’s body, in monstrous form. Stephanie: No… She couldn’t have… The Merrow has been unveiled, and with terrifying consequences.
