Main Campus is the central yard at Camp Mohawk. Prominent features include the message board in the center, the flagpole and the benches under the tree by the bunks in the north end. A central experience for many generations of campers was the gathering on main campus at the end of the day for Taps. The entire camp would gather in the center of main campus in a big circle and join hands with their neighbor in hand-over-hand fashion. After singing the Mohawk anthem "Friends, Friends, Friends" the staff would quiet the campers and all would then gently intone Taps, followed by a communal shout of "Back to the bunks!"
