The JEM7VL is the first left-handed JEM model since the JEM555L which was available between 1997 and 2000. In terms of specifications, its identical to its right-handed counterpart, the JEM7V. A left-handed version of Joe Satriani's signature JS1200 was also offered in 2009 as the JS1200L. The initial 2009 version had an Edge Pro tremolo; that version was offered for only one year. In mid-2011 a new version was produced with an original Edge trem; that version was offered through 2012 and then was brought back for a short period in mid-2013. The JEM7VL has been discontinued since 2013.

  • The JEM7VL is the first left-handed JEM model since the JEM555L which was available between 1997 and 2000. In terms of specifications, its identical to its right-handed counterpart, the JEM7V. A left-handed version of Joe Satriani's signature JS1200 was also offered in 2009 as the JS1200L. The JEM7VL features an alder body with basswood veneer bolted to a maple and walnut neck with a 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with Tree of Life vine inlays and scalloped frets above the 21st. Components include a double locking tremolo bridge with a locking nut, DiMarzio Evolution pickups with two humbuckers flanking a single-coil and Gotoh tuning machines. The initial 2009 version had an Edge Pro tremolo; that version was offered for only one year. In mid-2011 a new version was produced with an original Edge trem; that version was offered through 2012 and then was brought back for a short period in mid-2013. The JEM7VL has been discontinued since 2013.
