- Orson (オーソン Ōson?) is a minor character introduced during the Academy City Invasion Arc of Toaru Majutsu no Index. As a member of Hound Dog Orson was on standby in one of the Hound Dog's black vans during Kihara Amata's retrieval of Last Order. He is most notably known as the only known member of Hound Dog to have been spared by the Accelerator during Vento of the Front's invasion of Academy City.

- The Avatar met him in Ultima IX near Iolo's house. He explained how to reach the Despise, and warned the Avatar that all manners of evils could be found within. Later however, after learning that Evidious had sullied the Avatar's reputation, Orson had some new information. He'd seen an Avatar look-a-like putting up camp in the old ruins to the east of Britain. This proved helpful for finding the culprit.

- Orson is the "Number One" character in the seies and a pig. The strip begins with him the sole main character. The runt of the litter, the farmer took him away from the farm and left him to fend for himself alone in the wilderness. The first friend he stumbles upo is Roy, who terrifies him at first, but eventually Roy gains his trust and leads him back to another farm. He then meets Waid and eventually grows a love of books. Soon, he finds two abandoned eggs and decides to hatch them himself(to which Roy teases him regularly about). One hatches, and instantly believes Orson to be his mother. Orson names him Booker, and the other egg "hatches". The other chick's feet burst out, but the rest of him remains in the shell, so Booker dubs him Sheldon. Orson is very naive, brave, loyal and honest
- Orson (translated Olsson in the Japanese version) is a Paladin of Renais that is seen aiding Ephraim in Chapter 5x. Before this chapter, Tirado and Valter converse of how to defeat Ephraim. Tirado mentions that "along the prince's side is a friend. When the time comes, that friend will come to our aid." He is referring to Orson. After attempting to make escape from Renvall Castle, he, Ephraim, Kyle, and Forde are captured. Before Chapter 8 begins, when Eirika's party reaches Renvall, they are greeted by Orson, who is attempting to obtain Eirika's bracelet. However, Seth is suspicious and points out a few things that blow Orson's cover:

- Orson is the unseen supervisor of Mork. In the Wedding he could be considered the main antagonist. While normally unseen other than his silhouette in the pilot, he is regularly described by Mork as being incredibly fat and often makes jokes about his girth and calls him names which Orson takes with mild indifference. Even Mindy referred to him as fat on one occasion. He is very confused on how humans behave, survive and why they fight and not hide like Orkans do. He also doesn't understand emotions, love, jokes (due to the law that you get arrested if you tell a joke and it gets a laugh) and friendship. If you look on the brick wall on the stepback of this book, you can see "ORSON" spray-painted across it in white, and the initials "DBM" to the left in black, right above "96" -- the year the cover was made. Below Orson but above the trashcan is the name of another of David's cats, "MOUSE".
