Any physical contact with the ghost is extremely lethal and ill advised. Those consumed by the Jikininki will also suffer in it's fate and become a preta, attempting to quell its supernatural insatiable appetite with no avail. New jikininki and preta lose their forms in the normal world and become invisible to the physical plane, trapped in Limbo unable to make contact with the world. Forced to suffer and wonder endlessly.
