The R&R-COMECON War began as a tech raid by R&R on the Council of Mutual Economic Assistance (CMEA, later COMECON). CMEA had been a previous alliance populated by members of R&R, and they asked R&R government to vacate the CMEA AA. Diplomacy was first tried to no avail. Many on the new CMEA changed the AA abbreviation to COMECON; however, gorbachov, the leader of CMEA/COMECON, would not relinquish the title. Their DoE was on September 1, with R&R providing protection for 30 days. Gorbachov remained on the COMECON AA, continuing the fight against R&R for another day before agreeing to continue the AA as COMECON, a AA name already used by his nation for some days. By this time, COMECON was a one nation micro.
