| - The Western Isles is a location near Camelot where knight Valiant came from. Its crest has snakes on it like the crest of Essetir, which is why it could possibly located near there (Valiant).
- The Western Isles referred to the three islands off the coast of Lindon in Middle-earth. They are Tol Morwen, Himling, and Tol Fuin. Tol Fuin was the largest of isles with Tol Morwen and Himling being relatively smaller. Himling and Tol Fuin were relatively close to one another, while Tol Morwen was about one-hundred and fifty miles southwest of the other two islands.
- The Western Isles (西部三島 Seibu Mishima) are an archipelago of three separate islands off the coast of Etruria and is colonized by the Etrurians. Fibernia is the largest of the three islands and is home to Mt. Eburacum, Armagh and the capital Jutes. Caldonia lies to the south and it is where Castle Edina is situated. Dia, the smallest island, is located to the north. The islands are rich in minerals and resources, although piracy and banditry often occurs in the country.

Since the Western Isles are waterlocked and isolated from other countries, it is hard for even the mighty Etruria to keep a firm grasp on the law of the land and with its intricate system of small islands, it makes a perfect haven for pirates to do their bidding. In Fire Emblem: The Binding Blade, Roy and the Lycia Alliance army liberated the colonists from a tyrannical Etrurian rule. They also freed the slaves forced by the Etrurian government to work in the mines. Durban the Berserker, one of the Eight Legends, settled in the western isles. He hid his legendary weapon, Armads, in a secluded cave, guarded by poison gas and darkness. The axe was eventually obtained by Hector in Fire Emblem: The Blazing Blade and then again by Roy in The Binding Blade during his campaign on the Isle. At the epilogue, the people of Western Isle heritage, led by the resistance leader Echidna, colonize the Isles and, with Etruria's help, becomes a great nation all its own.
