- Character in Through The Looking Glass by Lewis Carroll (not to be confused with The Queen of Hearts; she is a chess piece, although many readers today may be more familiar with black rather than red pieces - the book also features a White Queen). Probably the inspiration for The Queen In Red. She has lent her name to an evolutionary hypothesis regarding the value of sex and an EP. The term 'Red Queen' has been used in other contexts, such as the Resident Evil series and a Doctor Who fanfiction (Gypsy Through The Looking Glass) by DJ Tyrer. See The Red King.
- In the High Hide, Levine and Malcolm watch the herbivorous dinosaurs grazing and drinking across the field; Levine notes their spacial arraingment and believes its a sort of defense perimeter. Below, Eddie finishes reassembling a spherical cage that Levine explains is a sort of shark cage, but for dinosaurs. The cage is fastened to the bottom of the High Hide and if any aggressive dinosaurs wander too close to the Hide, people on the ground can get into the cage for protection. Levine, however, believes that the pungent odor of the ferns being used to camoflage the High Hide (which are mildly poisonous) will deter any of the herbivores from coming too closely. - Iracebeth of Crims, also know as The Red Queen, is the primary antagonist of the 2010 film Alice in Wonderland, and a major character and anti-heroine of its sequel Alice Through the Looking Glass. She is the tyrannical queen of Underland and possesses a bloodthirsty personality, commonly sentencing people and animals to be beheaded for the most ordinary of situations. She maintains a difficult relationship with her younger sister, Mirana the White Queen.
