The 1992 Tampa Bay Buccaneers season began with the team trying to improve on a 3–13 season. It was the first season of Sam Wyche's four-year spell as Buccaneer head coach. Wyche said before the season that he believed he could turn Vinny Testaverde into a great player. Tampa Bay had lop-sided wins in the first two weeks, and looked like they would prove good the coach's words. They started the season 3–1 but then lost ten of the next eleven, starting with a close heart-breaker to the Indianapolis Colts. The biggest heartbreak of the year was a week-13 loss to the Los Angeles Rams.[citation needed] Tampa Bay was rolling in the first half to a 27–3 lead. But the second half was all Rams, and a 27–31 loss took whatever life was left to the team out of it.[citation needed] Special teams suffe
