- "The Watcher" is the twentieth issue of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season Nine comic book series. Joss Whedon is the Executive Producer.
- The Watcher was a Lotus Assassin tasked with guarding the entrance to the Lotus Assassin Fortress. Only the most skilled of their order could enter the fortress without him knowing. - The Watcher is a mysterious Time Lord who has chosen to exist outside of space and time to watch and observe history he also designs and experiments on DNA samples recreating and creating new life forms. His ultimate goal is the recreation of Gallifrey and he is willing to do anything even decimate earth and repopulate it with a newly resurrected race of Time Lords the the only one standing in his way is The Sinner.

(PROSE: Into the Silent Land) He silently observed events on Earth, particularly the events leading to Tegan Jovanka entering the Doctor's TARDIS. It was around this time that the Doctor first noticed the Watcher.
- The Watcher (見張る, Miharu) also known as Shadow Spider (影蜘蛛, Kagekumo) is a Warlord-Jorōgumo Hybrid; making him one of his kind. He is an A-Class hero, and is one of the few members of the heroes association that isn't a human but is a rather humanoid, hybrid creature who's origins are shrouded with mystery. In fact, not a single person in the entire hero association is aware of his real identity. He is also known as the only hero entire association who has a vast variety of powers.
