Unveiled at the 2012 Paris Auto Show, the McLaren P1™ features a McLaren M838TQ twin-turbo 3.8L V8 engine. It was the successor of the McLaren F1. The car's rivals were the Ferrari LaFerrari, Lamborghini Asterion LPI 910-4, Porsche 918 Spyder concept and the Porsche 918 Spyder Weissach Package. A track version was manufactured, the McLaren P1™ GTR. Only 375 units have been made. Currently the P1™ holds the production lap record at Circuit of the Americas, Anglesey Coastal Circuit, and Silverstone National Circuit.
