She joined the BBC in production before working as a Script Editor on Casualty, Summer’s Lease (John Mortimer), Portrait of a Marriage (Penelope Mortimer), A Fatal Inversion (Sandy Welch) and Spender (Jimmy Nail, Ian La Frenais, John Harvey). She also worked with Peter Flannery, Arthur Hopcraft, John Harvey, Andy De La Tour, Ian La Frenais, John Sessions, Jimmy Nail, Nigel Planer, Tony Jordon, Tony McHale, Ashley Pharoah, Bill Gallagher and Peter Bowker. Helen worked as a Producer on EastEnders, O Mary This London (BBC Films) and Life with Elisa (BBC Wales). As a writer, Helen has contributed episodes to Emmerdale, Casualty, Bramwell and Holby City. In 2009 she wrote and co-produced an acclaimed ten minute film entitled Perfect Day, starring Katie Jarvis and Merve Lukeba. Broadcast on Sky 1, it was nominated for a Rose D’Or. She has two projects in development with Hilary Bevan Jones and Endor Productions, a lawyers’ series entitled Only Just and an original screenplay, Miles From Nowhere. Her series idea Two Tribes is with Clerkenwell Films. She is currently developing original four-part serial Home and original series idea Mother Country. Her critically-acclaimed 30 minute film, Walking the Dogs (Sprout Pictures), starring Emma Thompson, Eddie Marsan and Russell Tovey TX 2012 as part of the Sky Playhouse series.
