  • In the mirror universe, Khan Noonien Singh (born 1970) was a notorious Terran Augment who lived during the 20th century. He was driven to improve the Terran race through genetic augmentation. However, his experiments were banned by the Terran Empire. (TNG - Mirror Universe novella: The Worst of Both Worlds) Khan's family line was considered "noble," and members of the Singh line were considered "born rulers" by some. His lineage continued into at least the 23rd century. In 2288, Ivan West suggested restoring the Singh line by placing Khan's descendant, Ranjit Singh, on the Imperial throne after assassinating the reform minded Emperor Spock. This idea was quickly shot down by West's co-conspirators, who considered Ranjit Singh to be a megalomaniac. (TOS - Mirror Universe novel: The Sorrows of Empire) In 2371, the archaeologist for hire Vash speculated as to whether or not the Terran Empire would have been conquered by the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance in 2295 had they allowed Khan to proceed with his genetic experiments. (TNG - Mirror Universe novella: The Worst of Both Worlds) Although not explicitly stated by either West or Vash, it seems likely that Khan was at one time the ruler of Earth. It is possible that the ISS Khan's Wrath was named for him in the 22nd century.
