Mexican Pesos are the most basic and some of the most collected Hispanic coins. All coins since 1947 have Jose Maria Morelos. The first with Jose were circulated 1947-8, all which were made with .5 Silver. Pesos from then on until 1967 were made of .1 Silver. Due to the high value of silver, Pesos from 1970-83 contained copper and nickel. Near the end of the MXP, Pesos were made with a much cheaper stainless steel.
