No one could tell you exactly what kind of candy they were or exactly how they were made (Try asking someone sometime). The Tootsie Roll was a riddle, wrapped in a mystery, wrapped in an enigma, wrapped in what appears to be a wrapper. The world united to cure the Tootsie shortage and hired Dr. Raymond Robert Pankill and Professor Ignacius Powarkock to research the wonderful candy. The duo would discover the true origins of the Tootsie Roll and reveal a conspiracy the likes of which man had never seen. Tootsie Rolls are grown on the Tootsicus Toxica plant (Commonly referred to as the Tootsie Plant). Tootsicus Toxica plants can grow to be miles high and sprout massive pods which produce Tootsie Rolls fully protected in their clearly marked husk. It is widely accepted that Tootsicus Toxica was the inspiration for the bean stalk in the story 'Jack and The Bean Stalk'. According to carbon dating, the Tootsie Plant is the oldest species of life on earth, and all plant life can be genetically traced back to it, making it one of the fundamental building blocks of civilization. The plant, fairly common in prehistoric times, was thought to be extinct, but that simply wasn't the case. The Tootsicus Toxica plant was left in the safe and secret keeping of the Ancient Order of Tootsie Roll Farmers (or AOTRF as they'd later be known). The AOTRF, originally formed to insure the survival of the Tootsie Plant, would keep the true origins and influence of the Tootsie Roll secret for centuries.
