The Philippine parliamentary election of 2016 were held on Monday, October 26, 2020 together with Barangay and SK Elections.Each of the 465 parliamentary constituencies elected one to three Member of Parliament (Mambabatas Pambansa) to the National Assembly (Batasan Pambansa), the dominant house of Parliament. The Makabayan Coaition was split from centre-left leaning UNIDO in 2018 after some members of the UNIDO led by Jose Maria Sison, chairman of Communist Party of the Philippines bolted from the UNIDO Coalition after some disagreements with UNIDO leader Louise delos Reyes in preparation for the 2020 parliamentary elections.
