George Stanford appeared in Coronation Street in July 1967 as Councillor Wilson, one of the judges of a "Best Kept Street" competition. This appears to have been a late role for an actor whose television appearances were numerous throughout the late 1940s in the newly-returned BBC service after the Second World War. He appeared in many plays from Alexandra Palace including adaptations of The Monkey's Paw andThe Time Machine and television versions of plays such as Lady Luck and The Man Who Came To Dinner.
