On 14 April, 2012, Father Andrew gave an invocation at Colorado Republican State Assembly in which he pointed out that at the core of American politics was a Biblical understanding of marriage. He further explained that political divisions in the United States were not between Republicans and Democrats but between Democracy and Socialism. He theorized that Catholics had a special pass to discuss Socialism as Catholics have been killed by Socialists over the past two centuries.
