Tywat Pare is the sheriff of Terinyo. He will attack anyone who feels bold enough to threaten the residents of Terinyo, and is not a foe to be underestimated. Tywat offers two quests: Kill Kranach the Raider Lord and Kill Hotzenplotz the Crime Lord. If he is standing near the player and sees an outlaw or other criminal, he will give the player a "deputys badge" - an Amulet of Order. The easiest way to do this is to lure him to Lawenilothehl, where there is an abundance of such people.

As such fighter he can be bolted to death without alarming the village as long as he is not panicking. Note that this does not work with raiders/raider lord despite existing bounties. Also, if he spots a criminal in the same area as the PC but out of his/her sight, the player will be interrupted by a message about somebody shouting "*Yippieyayyay!*".

Description
  • Tywat Pare is the sheriff of Terinyo. He will attack anyone who feels bold enough to threaten the residents of Terinyo, and is not a foe to be underestimated. As such fighter he can be bolted to death without alarming the village as long as he is not panicking. Tywat offers two quests: Kill Kranach the Raider Lord and Kill Hotzenplotz the Crime Lord. Hotzenplotz will assign the PC to kill the sheriff, rewarding him/her with an amulet of chaos if he does so. Note that attacking the sheriff in Terinyo with melee or missiles will make all of the inhabitants of the town hostile, including the formidable Munxip and Guth'Alak. If he is standing near the PC and there is an outlaw or other criminal somewhere on the level, he will say "Let's slay some evil bandits!" and start pursuing said criminal. He will also give the PC of lawful alignment a "deputy's badge" - an amulet of order. The easiest way to do this is to lure him to Lawenilothehl, where there is an abundance of such people. Note that this does not work with raiders/raider lord despite existing bounties. Also, if he spots a criminal in the same area as the PC but out of his/her sight, the player will be interrupted by a message about somebody shouting "*Yippieyayyay!*". Tywat can be lured out of Terinyo by leaving town with him standing on an adjacent square. He will then follow the PC to whichever location is visited next. For low level, weak PCs, such as Mindcrafters, this can be extremely helpful in a wilderness ambush. Though he is not tame, he is friendly, and if the PC lures the crowd of monsters near Tywat, he will reliably kill one or two on each pass. He can also be brought to the small cave, and monsters can be lured to him. Since the XP is not the PC's, the danger level will not increase. He can also be used as a "first-kill-filter" for players who would attempt an ultra ending, but would prefer also to get the Courage skill.
