The USS Edisto (AGB-2) was a in the service of the United States Navy which was later transferred to the United States Coast Guard as USCGC Edisto (WAGB-284). She is named for an island lying at the mouth of a river of the same name about 20 miles south of Charleston, South Carolina. The island and the river, in turn, had gained their names from the Edisto Indians who inhabited the island and the surrounding area. There is currently (2011) a "110 foot" Island Class Patrol Boat USCGC Edisto (WPB-1313) stationed in San Diego, California.
