Cybersix was based on a series of comic books by Argentine writers Carlos Meglia and Carlos Trillo. The comic made its debut in May of 1992. It is currently in Spanish, Italian and French, however the comic has not been officially translated into English. The title sequence and closing credits featured lyrics written by Robert Olivier, which were sung by jazz vocalist Coral Egan. On April 28, 2001, Cybersix won "Special Mention for the Best Science Fiction Program" at the Pulcinella Awards in Italy for that year's competition.
