Kathy Kohl is a forensic archaeologist with the medical examiners' office. On 1 January 2002, she was assigned to the exhumation of a body later identified as Arthur Delacroix. She coined the term "City of Bones" to refer to the excavation of the scattered remains. In September of 2006, she was assigned to the exhumation of Marie Gesto, and was later held at gunpoint by serial killer Raynard Waits after he led investigators to Gesto's body and escaped police custody.
