The D9 "Devil" class was a type of battle cruiser fielded by the Klingon Empire during the 23rd century. (Ship Recognition Manual, Volume 4: Starships of the Original Series Era) The D9 class was designed as both a front line combat ship and a force delivery ship. It was able to carry 2,000 troop as its standard complement and had additional room for a further 3,000 if need be. Developed in the early 2260s the class was soon eclipsed by the introduction of the K't'inga-class and many were uprated or refitted to keep them as viable front line warships.
