The Federal Defense of Children's Rights & Security Act known and proposed as Caylee's Law is a federal level law enacted in July 2011 creating two new federal level criminal offenses, enhancing previous criminal offenses and establishing federal laws regarding the protected Constitutional rights of minors. The law most notably creates the offenses, Failure To Report A Missing Child and Failure To Report The Death Of A Child which result in 5 to 10 years imprisonment and 15 to 25 years imprisonment respectively and enhancing child abuse laws such as Battery Of A Minor which is provided multiple definitions and resulting penalties.
