- In late 19 ABY, the standing New Republic Senate passed legislation that would begin the process of undoing the hegemony established by Palpatine's Imperial reign. The first step was the decentralization of power that had accumulated at the higher echelons of leadership in the New Republic.
- The Galactic Alliance was the dominant power in the Galaxy after the Yuuzhan Vong War until the Galaxial War. Their power began to wane when Corellia rebelled causing a stir among the Galaxy. Further losses were incurred when the Alliance attacked the Ni'novian Empire and the Sith. Born out of subterfuge and violence against the Galactic Republic, the Empire is regarded as neither legitimate nor permanent. The Imperial movement is an outlaw in the galactic community and the Alliance is determined to bring our Imperial and Sith enemies to justice or justice to them. All reasonable and just means will be used with all due haste.
- History of the New Republic: The New Republic had survived the Thrawn threat to be faced with a new one, Grand Admiral Nagel became the Imperial Leader after Thrawn's untimely death. Nagel started his war against the New Republic with what seemed to be an endless supply of resources, a gigantic fleet, and an unending supply of stormtroopers. This matters to the galactic alliance because Nagel immediately declared war on the fledgling New Republic, and sent a multitude of assassins to thin the officer's ranks, causing planets to secede.
