The Ægean War was a war between Viking raiders operating out of the Viking Lordship of the Aegean and the irritated and attacked local powers, the Empire of Aram under Husayn the Great and the Byzantine Empire under Basil the Pontian and later his nephew Anastasios III. The Ægean War ran simultaneously with the Second Khazar War which also saw Vikings attacking a Middle Eastern Power (Siyavash I's Sassanid Empire).
