  • Cold Slither was the name of a rock group put together by Cobra in one of their most insidious (and topical, for the mid-80s) schemes. The Dreadnoks portrayed the band members and lip-synced a song (penned by the multi-talented Destro) containing subliminal messages. Upon hearing it, the listeners, including G.I. Joe team members Breaker, Shipwreck, and Footloose, were under Cobra's power. The stock music they played was also used in episodes of The Transformers, minus the lyrics. It rocks, and on occasion, rolls.
  • "Cold Slither" is a villain song performed by the Dreadnoks led by Zartan who controls citizens' minds to enjoy their rock band and it was featured in the show G.I. Joe A real American Hero.
  • "Cold Slither" was a song released by the Dreadnoks in an attempt to mind-control the nation's youth. The mind-control plot didn't work, but the single itself was an enduring hit. The Dreadnoks, however, didn't follow up on their budding music careers, and instead remain biker mercenaries. The Dreadnoks, however, didn't follow up on their budding music careers, and instead remain biker mercenaries. Cobra Commander later caught flack from the more fiscally conservative faction of Cobra (namely Destro) who felt spending millions on a high-profile spectacle like a made-up rock band was about as worthless as carving your face in the moon while much cheaper tactics like bombings and hijackings were far more effective ways to spread global terror.
