The spice producing planet once had pink skies but after the Imperial presence they turned dark. Following the Battle of Yavin, the Galactic Empire transferred the Imperial Star Destroyer Eliminator to investigate suspected rebel transactions and to garrison the planet. The Imperial Navy officer Thane Kyrell was stationed on that planet. After witnessing the maltreatment of imported Bodach'i slaves, Kyrell, who already had been disillusioned by the Empire's destruction of Alderaan, decided to desert the Empire. Shortly prior to the Battle of Jakku, Kerev Doi was still reportedly under the domination of some Imperial remnant, crime syndicate or gang.
