• Welcome to '>OpenRPG version 1.7.1... (0) ShadowDragon8685: Jin-Ol's Station: Jin-Ol Ashim is a pirate. In some respects he's a notable pirate lord, in others, not so much. He would have been a galaxy-renowned explorer and treasure hunter by now, given his penchant for finding out-of-the-way treasures, but he turned to the dark side of treasure hunting by deciding to go treasure hunting in other people's cargo holds. Among his treasures are two private space stations which his crew found. The first is the one which Jaz-Am directed you to. By having Jaz-Am's shutdown codes, you were able to order the on-board battle droids and defenses to shut down. It's Mynok season, so you had to explore the station in vacc suits as the station was pumped full of hydrogen gas and a tractor beam was stepping more hydrogen out of the gas giant below, converting it to power and using the rest to flood the exteroir so the mynocks can't destroy the station. The station is largely crewed by droids - B1 Pilot models supplemented with R5 units. Security was provided (besides the B1s) by LR-57 Combat Droids, very large, heavy walkers shaped like cylinders on legs with heavy, double-laser cannon arms, and a massive LM-432 Assault Crab Droid the size of a TIE fighter which was patroling the landing bay. With Jaz-Am's codes, the droids salute you when you board the station, instead of opening fire. The codes are changed as soon as you access the station's brain. The station itself is an old Alliance space station, a small one hidden out-of-the-way. It has shields powerful enough to repel an assault by starfighters and corvettes, and would even withstand a frigate's attack for a signifcant amount of time, whilst having two turbolaser batteries each containing three single light turbolasers, two laser cannon batteries each containing four quad light laser cannons, a concussion missile launcher and a proton torpedo launcher. It is shaped like a rounded monolith, looking for all the world like some kind of weapon component for a vast, vast star dreadnought, with a tractor beam emitting from the bottom stepping up hydrogen from the gas giant below. Exploring the station reveals that Jin-Ol set it up to manage itself for the most part. It contains machine shops for droids to repair droids, and a small foundry to turn ores and industrial metals into droid parts and station parts. He most likely got the equipment and droids from Gakarra, exploiting her once-Trade-Federation resources. The holds are mostly empty for a station of it's size, but not entirely. It contains the following: Medical Supplies: Bacta, 14 tons, in 50-liter drums. Pharmaceuticals, 6 tons, loaded on palettes. Foodstuffs: Exotic delicacies, 1 ton, sealed in vacuum crate. Exotic Dairy Products (Cheese), 1 ton, sealed in maturation crate. Common fruits, 14 tons, sealed in vacuum crate. Common meats, 16 tons, sealed in refigerated nitrogen. Common bulk grains, 2 tons, sealed in standardized shipping container. Container damaged, product spoiled. Equipment: Vehicle parts, 30 tons (Landspeeder/Bike repair parts), sealed in shipping foam Power Packs and Energy Cells, Qty 300, 3 tons, loaded on pallets in consumer packaging. Electrobinoculars, Qty 100, 5 tons, loaded on pallets in consumer packaging. Luxury Goods: Quality Clothing, 1 ton, sealed in shipping crate. Quality Furniture, 2 tons, locked in armored crate (DC 30 Mechanics checks) Consumable goods, 5 tons, locked in shipping crate (DC 15 Mechanics check) Industrial Equipment: Rare ores, 4 tons, loaded in repulsorlift hoppers Common ores, 8 tons, loaded in repulsorlift hoppers. Industrial Metals, 10 tons, loaded in crates. Construction materials, 10 tons, loaded on palettes. Droids ASP series labor droid, Qty 10, 5 tons, packed in crates. And needless to say, you recover the location of the "Winter" base. (0) ShadowDragon8685: Jin-Ol's Station: Jin-Ol Ashim is a pirate. There's various and sundry things within, most impressively 14 tons of bacta which the Jedi Academy will be needing desperately. From the station's computer, you easily recover the location of Jin-Ol's wintering location: an uninhabited, essentially unexplored system only a few dozen light-years from Naboo, practically next door. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Of course, if nobody else winds up showing... Ah, to hell with it. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: We can always do some pre-game characterization stuff on the Phoenix Sunrise. (1051) Jen Vadur: Hehe, yeah (1046) Epic Lurker: Im pretty sure Jen and Niari can kick some decent ass on their own. They proved more than capable against a bunch of droids last week. (1055) Morco Jocra: Well I'll give you guys a fair warning as I've already told Shadow due to real life circumstances after tonight I'll be dropping out of the game for an undetermined amount of time...possibly entirely. (1046) Epic Lurker: O.O the website says it has been delivered, and it has NOT. ** (1039) ShadowDragon8685 has hot dogs, jalapeno poppers and water ice. ** (1046) Epic Lurker: >.> (1046) Epic Lurker: Say what? (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Yes, it does. (1055) Morco Jocra: Yeah, as I really enjoy this game but real life takes priority. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: However, it does also mean that we can bring in newbies. You gain some, you lose some. (1051) Jen Vadur: Aww Morco... understandable, as life usually has to be, bleh! ** (1039) ShadowDragon8685 hugs Morco. We'll miss you. ** (1051) Jen Vadur: I hope it's nothing too serious... (1055) Morco Jocra: Hey if nothing else, I might try to rejoin later if you'll have me back and my life allows it. (1051) Jen Vadur: I will petition to allow you back when life allows you! (1039) ShadowDragon8685: We'd always let you rejoin. (1051) Jen Vadur: Hehe (1055) Morco Jocra: Nothin too serious, just going to be gone most Sundays starting next week. Among a couple of other minor things. (1046) Epic Lurker: Well, Im glad you've actually informed us. A lot of times players just vanish with no word. So thanks for not having us worry or wonder. :) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Anyway, I suppose it's worth starting for some characterization RP now, and the others can filter in when they filter in. (1051) Jen Vadur: Well that's ok then, otherwise I'd get worried too (1051) Jen Vadur: Ok... (1055) Morco Jocra: Your welcome, I'd hate to have others leave my games and not tell me...so I make sure to tell others when I leave. Alright I'm going to go get something to drink real quick then I should be ready. (1051) Jen Vadur: Nice pic! (1064) Eric N. (enter): 18:03 (1064) Eric N.: (Just gonna watch) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: According to Jaz-Am, his uncle's main space station was at present abandoned, as it was Mynock Season and swarming Mynocks do bad things to starships. However, a ship at full speed could reach it without Mynocks having much chance to attach; a frigate would never make it, but a pair of starfighters and an agile space transport would, easily. Accordingly, your next stop is Jin-Ol Ashim's main space station. All of the starfighter pilots are currently aboard the Phoenix Sunrise, the starfighters being piloted by their astromech droids while the pilots get some much needed relaxation, rest, and refresher time. Nico and Ferrago are asleep when the Phoenix drops out of hyperspace; the bridge is currently manned by Jen, Morco, Niari, and T3-TT. The wounded Alderaanians have by now recovered from their injuries, which were minor. Attempting to assign the role of PLAYER to (1046) Epic Lurker... (1064) Eric N.: Disconnecting from server... (1046) Epic Lurker: Niari stifled a yawn as the ship jumped out of the blue of hyperspace and the bridge window filled with stars. Despite having had a good rest she still felt tired and sore, though not as bad as she had been earlier. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: ((Get your character /name on. :P )) (1046) Epic Lurker: (Crap, sorry.) ** (1051) Jen Vadur looks out at the stars at a glance and wonders back to her childhood on Naboo for a moment ** (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Leaping out of hyperspace, you find that the pirate's berth is above a massive gas giant, orange and swirly, almost entirely hydrogen. Several small planetoids orbit this as moons, and it has an extensive ring field. It also has swarms and swarms of Mynocks flying around. It's mating season, and why, exactly, the mynocks are all swarming and humping above a planet whose atmosphere makes them explode in a puffy mess is beyond, well... Anyone logical. The station survives in the close orbit because a tractor beam emitting from the tip at the bottom is stepping hydrogen gas up from the planet; this gas is not only fueling it's reactors, but also swirling around the station's hull, making lots of nasty messes when Mynocks try to attach themselves to the station. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Beingn and Diver have jumped out of hyperspace next to you, in the starfighters. (1051) Jen Vadur: (Haha!) (1046) Niari: Niari's nose scrunches up in disgust as she observes the sight, in fact, she felt rather uneasy to be flying amongst them. "I guess that's the station Jaz mentioned." (1051) Jen Vadur: "Quite the mating season..." ** (1051) Jen Vadur wonders where the Mynock babies are ** (1039) ShadowDragon8685: It does match the description he gave you, and since it's at the location he gave you, all that's left after that is to land and hope he was telling you true about the landing and droid shut-off codes. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: You can't even see individual Mynocks from here, just the swirling swarm, so chances are there's juvenile Mynocks among them. ** (1055) Morco Jocra looks out the cockpit and a dissappointed look crosses his face. "Mynocks, well this isn't going to be easy if we get in a fight out here. Diver, Beingn follow us in and try not to give the mynocks any chance to attach themselves to you." He says as he grabs the controls and letting the force guide him he prepares to pilot to the station. ** (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Do we know where the docking bay is that we need to land on is or any of them?)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: The droids beep their confirmation, and they follow the Phoenix in. There's only one landing bay, it's that huge one on that stalk on the top of the station. (1051) Jen Vadur: "I agree Morco, we'd better stay clear of them." (1039) ShadowDragon8685: your cockpit screens light up with extra text. "I've got the codes ready to go." Kya is in the communications room. "I'm getting no comms traffic from this thing." Your sensors could have shown you this, of course, but it doesn't hurt to have someone in a dedicated comms suite doing checking. (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Alright wasn't sure for certain, may have missed that...how many rolls do I need to make to land the thing safely? If any and what modifiers do I have to the rolls?)) (1046) Niari: "Ugh," Niari grumbles, "Can't we just set them all on fire?" (1055) Morco Jocra: "We could, but that's not the jedi way." (1039) ShadowDragon8685: None? This isn't really a skill challenge. Just a hot approach and a sudden landing while your comms room blares out landing codes. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: "How are you going to set something in fire that's in space? Mynocks don't have any internal oxidizers," appears in the panels. (1055) Morco Jocra: "I assume she meant just opening fire on them. (1046) Niari: "Doesn't mean I can't wish they did," Niari responds to Kya. "They're disgusting." (1046) Niari: "No," she shakes her head at Morco. "I meant set them on fire." (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Alright well once we've got the landing codes I'll take the ship in towards the docking bay.)) (1055) Morco Jocra: "Well setting them on fire is going to be tricky out in space." (1046) Niari: "I know this," she grumbles, "But I do enjoy imagining it. ** (1051) Jen Vadur chuckles ** (1039) ShadowDragon8685: A soft clanging of boots on deck emerges from the comm room in the corridor behind you all - perhaps Kya finds that amusing as well? Regardless, the three vessels do swoop in towards the station. Unfortunately, there's no approach that doesn't go through the swarm, since the swarm surrounds the station. You've got nothing to do it, but to do it - and gun it. (1055) Morco Jocra: "Heh, while that may be fun to see I think we should postpone any fire starting until after we've at least searched the station." (1039) ShadowDragon8685: The three ships swoop in towards the station, and Kya notes that when she broadcast the landing signal, the station sent the expected counter-sign, and she's broadcasting the droid stand-down signal as well. (1074) >Alicia (enter): 18:22 (1074) "">Alicia : Disconnecting from server... (1074) >Alicia (exit): 18:22 (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Your ship dives through the myncok swarms, the two starfighters following in your wake. Whump. Whump. You hear some impacts on the hull, but at these speeds, they probably couldn't attach - like the poor bastard mynock that winds up on your cockpit bay window; or more accurately, winds up as a smear on the cockpit bay window. (1051) Jen Vadur: "This might turn into an interesting escape when we finish here..." (1039) ShadowDragon8685: T3-TT complains that he's not cleaning that off, as you get a beautiful view of a silicon-based paste of animal flesh. It makes landing a bit trickier, but not by much; however, as the ship slows down to enter the bay, another Mynock flies up, attaching itself to the side of the cockpit. (1046) Niari: "Ugh," Niari blanches as she glances at T3, "Yes you are." (1039) ShadowDragon8685: "Breeeep-bratt-breeep!" He seems quite insistant that he's not doing it. (1055) Morco Jocra: "Perhaps one of the Alderanians will while we search the station, however we should dispose of the attached mynock as quickly as possible." (1051) Jen Vadur: "These Mynocks are going to irritate me a lot!" (1046) Niari: "As long as it's not me," Niari clutches the sides of her chair tightly, throughly grossed out by the sight of the dead mynock, to say nothing of the live one attached to the side of the cockpit. "Just... get it off." (1039) ShadowDragon8685: "Won't be nessessary. Watch." As you enter the bay, you see that the station's atmopshere is slightly orange. It's filled with hydrogen gas, and the Mynock on the window freezes, then convulses. As you set down, it suddenly explodes, leaving a tremendous, puffed mess splattered over the side of the window. "Mynocks blow up when exposed to high concentrations of hydrogen, and even normal atmospheric hydrogen is poisonous to most species. This station's being maintained full of hydrogen." ** (1051) Jen Vadur breathes deeply to keep herself from vomiting ** (1051) Jen Vadur: "Problem solved." (1046) Niari: Niari shuts her eyes tightly, obscuring the sight of exploding Mynock. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: That's probably why they've flooded the station with hydrogen gas. Atmospheric sensors on the outside of the Phoenix are showing only hydrogen, no oxygen at all. (1055) Morco Jocra: "Great now we need enough breath masks for at least three, I've got two that can be used, not sure how many others are on board the ship." (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Outside the last remaining window, you can see the landing bay - both the N-1 and the Reek have landed safely - they each followed tight on the Phoenix's tail, letting the freighter absorb the mynock strikes. There is a huge droid in the landing bay, a gigantic, brownish crab-like thing with a central body and four massive, armored legs. It's the size of a TIE fighter, but it remains dormant. (1046) Niari: "Right..." Niari peeks out through half-opened eyelids. "Do we have the transmit codes to alter the atmosphere of the station?" (1039) ShadowDragon8685: "That's a bad idea," Kya types from the other room. "Oxygen in the atmosphere = Mynocks can board the station. Oxygen + Hydrogen = boom." (1051) Jen Vadur: "That might be a problem." (1039) ShadowDragon8685: "No it won't be. We've got enough EV suits aboard for everyone." (1055) Morco Jocra: "I know adding oxygen would be bad, that's why we need breath masks so we can breath while walking the station. Unless you've got a different solution." (1055) Morco Jocra: ((When did we acquire EV suits?)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: You hear the sound of Kya's feet on the deck again, clanking, as if she's kicking it whilst laughing. "The Alderaanians boarded from their ship in EV suits that are in perfect working order, and all of us from the Jedi Praxeum save Jen have EV suits aboard; but she's got a flight suit which has a helmet." (1051) Jen Vadur: "Good" (1039) ShadowDragon8685: They're part of the ship's locker. (1051) Jen Vadur: ((Armor and breath... good combo hehe)) (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Ah forgot about evacuating the Alderaanians, but had no idea what was in the ships locker.)) (1046) Niari: "Forgot about those," Niari mumbled as she rose from her seat in the cockpit - "Well, let's get going - I'd rather be done and out of here and away from those..." She scrunches her nose at the stain in the cockpit window. "Things..." (1039) ShadowDragon8685: ((The ship's locker has everything you need for general "space" stuff. It's got blasters, it's got EV suits, it's got a few medkits and such. A ship's locker is basically a "don't bother sweating the small fucking stuff" excuse.)) (1046) Niari: (:D Noted.) (1087) Luxor(charlie) (enter): 18:36 (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Cool...will have to remember that for future games of any sort when playing star wars.)) (1087) Luxor(charlie): hi (1051) Jen Vadur: ((Kewl!)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Indeed, you hear boots on the deck and see that the girl is already wearing her suit, holding a helmet under her arms. A Twi'lek helmet is mostly the same, but it has a large "bag" on the back for the lekku to go within. Of course, it does prevent the lekku sign language from being used. (1055) Morco Jocra: ((So how big is tehe station...as in how many levels and such?)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: As space stations go, it's small, but it's still a Colossal (Station) sized object. It's larger than a Star Destroyer by far. (1051) Jen Vadur: ((Sign language... interesting, didn't know that)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: ((You haven't hung around Niari and Kya very long. :P )) (1051) Jen Vadur: ((Clearly)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: ((Also, the Ship's Locker is a concept found in most space games - Traveller, Firefly... It makes no sense not to bring it over to Star Wars.)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: ((I haven't been handing out a lot of credit rewards, but I'm also not going to nickel-and-dime you for the basics of space flight.)) (1046) Niari: "Well, let's outfit up and get moving." Niari made her way to the ship's locker to put on the EV suit, double checking to make sure everything was secure and her lekku were stowed neatly in the pouch on the helmet. She moved down to the ramp to wait for the others before disembarking. ** (1051) Jen Vadur goes up next to Niari and props on her helmet ** (1055) Morco Jocra: "Well who is going to explore the station and where...also we need to determine who is going to stay and ensure the ships are available for take-off when needed?" (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Your headsets won't fit under the helmets, but similar functionality has been installed in space suits for thousands of years. You have comms, you have datapads in your wrists, you have basic HUD data-display. Kya and T3-TT follow you, Niari, and you find the Alderaanians are waiting in the hold, suited up, all of them carrying tool-kits and blaster carbines. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: fortunately, Nico and Ferrago can man the ships and watch the landing bay. :) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: ((Well, forearms, not wrists)) (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Yeah figured as much, which means they also get to clean the window.)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: ((Yep!)) (1046) Niari: (Ha! Serves them right!) (1051) Jen Vadur: ((Haha!!!)) ** (1055) Morco Jocra gets up from the pilot's seat and moves to put on one of the EV suits. He then moves over toward the boarding ramp and puts the helmet on. "Alright lets get moving." ** (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Disembarking the ship, Kya energetically rushes on ahead; she's upgraded to a blaster carbine on her hip, presumably relieved from the battle droids you massacred en masse, and she's got the carbon-rod lightsaber training toy over her back like some kind of archaic greatsword. She, too, has a toolkit, though it's heavier on the electronic geekery than on the nuts and bolts stuff. The massive droid turns to stare at the landing ramp, spreading it's legs and rising it's main body... Then it raises it's forward-right leg in an awkward imitation of a salute, before shutting back down. (1051) Jen Vadur: "That was strange, where's security?" ** (1055) Morco Jocra looks at the droid quizzickly for a moment wonderign why it has been programmed to operate that way then moves to catch up with Kya. "You shouldn't move to far ahead, no telling who or what is on board this station." ** (1093) Luxor(charlie) (enter): 18:46 (1093) Luxor(charlie): hi (1039) ShadowDragon8685: That gargantuan battle droid seems to be the landing bay security. You see a couple of tall, spindly battle droids not unlike the ones you were fighting back on Jeel standing at the rear of the landing bay. Their weapons are slung on their backs. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Kya looks at you through her helmet, smiling sheepishly. (1046) Niari: "Kya," she calls out, "Stay close..." Niari double checked her weapons - the blaster pistol on one hip and her lightsaber in a loop of the EV suit's toolkit belt. While the droids were supposedly deactivated, she wasn't sure how much she could trust that. ** (1055) Morco Jocra instinctively placed a hand on his lightsaber in preperation for a possible droid attack. ** (1093) Luxor(charlie): Disconnecting from server... (1093) Luxor(charlie) (exit): 18:48 (1039) ShadowDragon8685: As your approach, all of you wary, the battle drois on the door... Raise their arms... And they salute you, dropping their arms again, without blasters. ** (1051) Jen Vadur keeps her eye on the droids while walking past ** ** (1055) Morco Jocra nods at the droids hoping that's a proper response before moving on through the door. ** (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Would you prefer shooting? (1039) ShadowDragon8685: I mean, they can be shooting... (1055) Morco Jocra: ((No just acting in character...as these droids are acting entirely different than the ones we met previously.)) (1051) Jen Vadur: ((Nope that's ok, interesting change)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Kya sticks close to Niari. She reaches out to touch one of the droids - "alive" but not shooting at her friends. It doesn't react to her touch at all. (1046) Niari: Niari follows along behind Morco, still a bit wary, but visibly relaxed. "I wonder if we can bring them with us when we're done here? It might be useful to have a few of these on hand when we take on the pirates..." (1039) ShadowDragon8685: "Our cargo hold is so full I can barely squirm through, and the bigger males can't squirm through at all," Kya types on her datapad, revealing text in the upper-left of everyone's helmet. "We put the AT-PTs in my bedroom. We might fit a few aboard, but we're really, really full." (1039) ShadowDragon8685: "Plus, these models need their mainframe brain." (1055) Morco Jocra: "Good point, but I doubt we'd be able to get the big one on the ship easilly. Besides the pirates might have a way to override them remotely and then we'd have an even harder fight on our hands." (1039) ShadowDragon8685: "The big one, I don't know about, but it's far too big to fit aboard. It's almost the size of a frigging TIE fighter," Kya types out, with a shrug. "We'd need a big transport to move that beast." (1046) Niari: "Hmm," Niari furrows her brow. "I wonder if there's any transports being stowed on board, probably not - but it might be worth a look." (1039) ShadowDragon8685: The landing bay is cavernous, at the rear there are turbolifts to the stalk leading to the main station. There's a long, long corridor, or you can take the tram. There are more guards here - droids, with the blue stripe indicating they're pilot models, and they, too, salute. There is also a Destroyer Droid standing by. It can't salute, it simply makes some kind of acknowledgement in your direction in Binary. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: There's three tram lines - one, a big, cargo tram, could probably haul the Phoenix, while the two passenger trams can haul smaller cargo or people. Perhaps most interesting, however, is the crew. Most of the "crew" of this station seem to be R5 droids, all of them painted in the same black shade of primer. (1055) Morco Jocra: ((May I ask what it said, as I have Binary as a language?)) (1051) Jen Vadur: "I have a bad feeling about this." (1098) Luxor(charlie) (enter): 18:56 (1046) Niari: (As do I.) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: It acknowledged your presense, adding a "Sir" whispering to Niari, You hear Kya giggle, even though her lips aren't moving. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Kya holds her hand up to her faceplate, face smiling, as if she's giggling. whispering to Niari, Her 'voice' is actually very beautiful, kind, friendly. (1046) Niari: Niari glances at Kya, a thoughtful expression crossing her face. (1055) Morco Jocra: "Well we're going to have a helluva time getting out of here if these clankers start attacking. Not to mention I sure as hell don't want to deal with another of the destroyers, I'm lucky I survived the last one." (1051) Jen Vadur: "What do you suggest Morco... I'm thinking we should disable them, if that's safe." (1046) Niari: Niari nods, "Well, let's just get through this as fast as possible. Which way are we heading?" She glances around the bay looking for some sort of clue as to where the main computers were - those were bound to have some sort of information as to the location of the pirates. (1055) Morco Jocra: "Might not have time to disable them unless we can find the central brain." (1039) ShadowDragon8685: T3-TT strikes up a loud conversation with the Destroyer while you're waiting. It's actually kind of amusing, the small astromech rapidly speaking to the large war-droid, their tones; T3-TT's is fast and cheery, beepy, and the Destroyer's is loud, low, actually sounding somewhat mournful. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: A passing R5 makes a rude sound to T3-TT, and (even if you don't speak binary) it's quite clear he tells the taller, more cylindrical droid to rust off. (1098) Luxor(charlie) (exit): 19:01 (1051) Jen Vadur: "That's a better plan, rather focusing on disabling all of these droids at once..." (1051) Jen Vadur: ((Lol!!)) ** (1055) Morco Jocra chuckles at the rudeness of the R5 droid, shaking his head he makes his way over to the lift that will take them to the main station. ** (1039) ShadowDragon8685: T3's inquiring about the Destroyer's history; when it was brought online, what it's duties are. The Destroyer responds that it was brought online 2.43 galactic standard years ago, and it's duty is to remain at this post and repel boarders. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: It clearly does not consider you boarders, as it's weapons are down. (1046) Niari: "Right," the Lethan Twi'lek purses her lips thoughtfully. "I'll have to send Jaz-Om a message of thanks after all this... (1051) Jen Vadur: "This is getting stranger by the minute." (1046) Niari: She moves to the rude R5 and taps it, "Direct us to the main computers..." (1039) ShadowDragon8685: T3 asks the Destroyer to identify the organic life-forms accompanying it, and it responds wihtout hesitation that they are all Jin-Ol Ashim. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: It does not apparently see any logical problem with that. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: The R5's head spins around to look at you, and it bratttts, then spins around and rolls onto the passenger tram waiting at the landing bay. ** (1051) Jen Vadur follows the R5 unit ** (1046) Niari: (Uh, by brattt, it means...? Follow?) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Yes. R5 units can be notoriously rude. This one apparently needs a memory wipe, but it complies with orders. (1051) Jen Vadur: ((Or a hard kick!)) (1046) Niari: Niari hmpfs slightly at the droid, before following it onto the tram. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Ironically, the Destroyer droid, a droid manufactured in the image of a vicious species for one purpose and one purpose only - murder - seems to be quite polite. ** (1055) Morco Jocra changes his course and moves to the tram to join the others in following the droid. "T3, come along I've got a feeling we'll need you once we're at the central computer." ** ** (1051) Jen Vadur gives a sideways looks at the Destroyer droid ** (1087) Luxor(charlie) (exit): 19:08 (1051) Jen Vadur: "How very peculiar." (1039) ShadowDragon8685: T3 tries asking the Destroyer to come with them, but it replies that it cannot without supersceding orders, and it cannot recognize him as having the authority to issue such orders. T3 whistles as he rolls into the tram with you, Kya following, tapping on her forearm datapad keyboard. "I think I told the station that everyone aboard the Phoenix and the starfighters has the authorization clearance of the code I sent it. I guess Jaz-Am had his uncle's code." (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Which is probably why the battle droids are saluting you. (1046) Niari: "Well, if we can find the main databank we should see about changing the codes and acquiring this station for the Jedi Academy." (1055) Morco Jocra: "Well then we might not have any problems while here." (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Kya nods. "But how are we gonna move the station? A station this big won't have a hyperdrive."" (1046) Niari: "No, we can leave it here as a waypoint for the Academy when needed." (1051) Jen Vadur: "Well that's a relief." (1046) Niari: "A rest stop, if you will." (1039) ShadowDragon8685: The girl's eyes seem to be saying 'Oooooh!' She nods, smiling. "That's a good idea." (1112) Luxor(charlie) (enter): 19:12 (1051) Jen Vadur: "And we wouldn't even have to worry about security." (1051) Jen Vadur: "But first..." (1046) Niari: Niari smiles at Kya, "Thank you." (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Once everyone is aboard the tram, the R5 unit beeps and bratts at the tram, which speeds off into the interior of the station. T3-TT compels it to transmit a map of the station, though he has to threaten the recalcitrant unit with a summary memory wipe (enforced by his pop-up blaster) to do so. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: The girl seems to find the droid politics amusing. (1112) Luxor(charlie): Disconnecting from server... (1112) Luxor(charlie) (exit): 19:14 (1039) ShadowDragon8685: The memory core of the station is in the middle, in the decks below the station's command center. There's a large room off to the side, overlooking the huge, multi-story memory core, which contains computer equipment which quite clearly is from another era; most likely it's the memory core for the old CIS droids that provide security and gunnery and command duties when the organic pirates are away. Kya shakes her head. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: "How did a pirate get all this? He must've seriously lucked onto a lot of it." (1055) Morco Jocra: "Most likely he took it from it's previous owner." (1051) Jen Vadur: "That's more likely." (1039) ShadowDragon8685: "I dunno. Even if that ship of his was packed to the ceiling with pirates, this place would require a much larger crew than he would've had." (1039) ShadowDragon8685: The R5 unit, having discharged it's orders to lead you to the memory core, speeds off to it's other routine assignments. (1046) Niari: "Right..." Niari looks around confused, not really able to figure out heads-or-tails of all these computers. She was a decent pilot, but this was beyond her. "T3 - Morco... Just tell me what I need to do." (1055) Morco Jocra: "True, but we don't know how many ships he has or if there are indeed organics on board aside from us." (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Kya shakes her head. "I did a life scan when we flew in. There aren't any." (1119) Ferrago (enter): 19:18 Attempting to assign the role of PLAYER to (1119) Ferrago... (1055) Morco Jocra: "T3 I believe you are more suited to computers than I am or ever will be, if you would get any information you can and transmit it to us. As far as the life scan it is possible to keep ones self from being detected by scanners." (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Ferrago, the crew have boarded a space station belonging to Jin-Ol Ashim. It's hovering over a hydrogen gas giant, in the midst of a swarm of Mynocks, which explode when exposed to a lot of hydrogen gas. (1051) Jen Vadur: "I thought as much." (1039) ShadowDragon8685: The codes that Jaz-Am gave you were apparently his uncle's own clearance codes, as all the battle droids on the station are actually saluting you. (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Hey Ferrago.)) (1119) Ferrago: (Exploding mynocks. Sounds like a good time.) (1051) Jen Vadur: (('lo Ferrago)) (1051) Jen Vadur: ((Don't ask hehe, yucky!)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: You and Nico wound up drawing the duty of cleaning the Mynock goop off the ship, and you would presumably have then gone after your fellows. None of the droids seem to give a damn if you ride your speeder bike indoors, and the corridors are certainly big enough for it. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: T3-TT beeps and boops. He wants to know what you want him to make the computer tell him. (1051) Jen Vadur: "Ask if the computer could show its latest logs." (1055) Morco Jocra: "What information it has on what items are here, where Jaz-Am is if it knows, he quarters aboard here and anything else the others want." (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Should be his rather than he.)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: He beeps at you, asking if you're lazy or what, extending a computer probe into a nearby scomplink port. (1051) Jen Vadur: ((brb) (1055) Morco Jocra: "I'm not lazy..I'm just not that good with computers." (1055) Morco Jocra: ((That's what I get for not having Use Computers.)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Kya rolls her eyes, and taps on her forearm pad. "We all have systems administrator access. The whole thing is wide open to us." She steps up beside T3, to a terminal, but T3-TT retrieves the data before she can show you. Jaz-Am Ashim is not aboard the station. Jin-Ol Ashim is aboard the station twelve times, counting the Jin-Ol Ashim who is are aboard the vessel in the landing bay. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: None of the other organic residents are aboard the station. The last log shows the pirates having a goodbye party as they set the station for automatic wintering and departed before the mynocks started to swarm. (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Isn't Jaz-Am the gungan we're looking for?)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: no... (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Jaz-Am is the Gungan who helped you. He's the newphew of Jin-Ol Ashim, the one you're looking for. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: He was tricked by his uncle into being a pirate when he thought he was going to be a deep-sea crash explorer. (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Whoops got them mixed up then, my bad.)) (1055) Morco Jocra: "T3 I mean to look up on Jain-Ol...sorry about that." (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Jin...damn my typing is bad tonight.)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: His head rotates around to face you, and he beeps and whistles, annoyedly. (1051) Jen Vadur: ((Back)) (1046) Niari: Niari moves to the terminal and checks to see Jin-Ol's current port-of-call when he is not on this station. (1126) Vindille (enter): 19:27 (1051) Jen Vadur: "Thanks T3, so they might not be back for a while." (1039) ShadowDragon8685: You find that information easily enough, it's in the station's navigation charts. There's another station, apparently, a much smaller one - a platform, really - that's outside of the Corridor this station is near. That platform is apparently near Naboo, only a handful of systems away, but the Chomell sector is notoriously unexplored and undercharted. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: It's listed as the "Wintering Harbor" (1119) Ferrago: (brb) (1046) Niari: "T3 - can you transmit the coordinates for the Wintering Harbor to the Phoenix so we know where we're heading to next?" (1051) Jen Vadur: "Well now we know where Jin-Ol is at least. We somehow need to change his access codes so that he can't use the station." (1039) ShadowDragon8685: T3-TT beeps at Niari, listing an affirmative. He asks for one of you to please grant him Sysadmin access so he can make the changes requested. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: He's already recorded the coordinates, and has sent them to the starfighters - your datalinks show that both Benign and Diver recognize the reciept. (1046) Niari: "Right.." Niari stares at the terminal unsure how to do that. ** (1051) Jen Vadur moves over to the computer and types in the necessary commands, "That should hopefully do it T3." ** (1051) Jen Vadur: ((Should I roll for my computer use...)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Please. (1051) Jen Vadur: Typing fervently [1d20+11] => [7,11] = (18) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: You grant the little droid Systems Administrator access successfully. He beeps and whistles as he starts to explore the systems, and tells you that he can do it, but it will require a full system restart. (1051) Jen Vadur: "Will that take long?" (1055) Morco Jocra: "Will that give the battle droids free reign to open fire or shut them down?" (1046) Niari: "...is tha a wise idea? Beyond the droids won't a system restart also shut down the life support systems and give the mynocks free reign?" (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Player knows the answer, but character doesn't.)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: About an hour. But more, it will mean that the station's systems will be uncontrolled. It'll shut down the battle droids, but it will also mean that the power generator, the tractor beam, the atmospherics - that will all need to be regulated. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Fortunately, you have plenty of technical staff with you - the Alderaanians reckon that between them and the astromechs - both those you've brought and those on the station - they can keep everything working. (1055) Morco Jocra: "Hm, I've got no problem with this plan...but we should let the others know and see what they think." (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Ferrago, you've been listening to this plan on your EV suit's communications. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: You have to wear an EV suit since the atmosphere in here is hydrogen. (1051) Jen Vadur: "Hmmm, I think this is a needed step to take should Jin-Ol return." (1046) Niari: "Alright," Niari nods, "Lets go ahead and do that - we can take the hour to explore - perhaps Jin-Ol's private quarters might have some information for us." (1055) Morco Jocra: "Perhaps." (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Did we get the location of his quarters?)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: You have maps of the station, yes. But, this will also knock the trams out - or at least set them to manual. (1051) Jen Vadur: "Good plan Niari... T3 I think you should go ahead and start on the system restart." (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Alright Morco will head to Jin-Ol's quarters...gotta use the bathroom BRB.)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: T3 starts to draft R5 units in droves, as the Alderaanian technical crew move to the critical locations they need to be to keep things running. All in all, it will take about two hours to get this done - a half an hour for set-up, an hour for the system purge and restart, and half an hour for diagnostics. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: This gives you plenty of time to go and explore the quarters of the pirates, the cargo holds, and so forth. (1133) Luxor(charlie) (enter): 19:42 ** (1051) Jen Vadur starts for Jin-Ol's quarters ** (1133) Luxor(charlie) (exit): 19:42 (1046) Niari: Niari follows along after Jen, glancing back at T3 and the techs - "Let us know if you need anything." (1039) ShadowDragon8685: T3 whistles the affirmative. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: The pirate captain predictably claimed the station commander's quarters for his own. They're large and spacious, and (Kya notes) that when the station's inhabited, it's set to be maintained warm and humid. There's an empty swimming pool-sized pool in an adjoining room, and the bedchambers are large and spacious, decorated with wooden furniture. His pirate logo is emblazoned on the walls, but so are several other banners and forms of heraldry that you're almost certain not to recognize without a database. There seems to be a smaller, secondary bed next to the pirate king's bed, and there's a chain firmly welded into the wall. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Kya looks predictably furious when she sees the chain, and draws her blaster carbine, shooting the anchor holding the chain, to little effect. (1119) Ferrago: (Back) (1051) Jen Vadur: "It might be useful to find clues relating to the owner previous to Jin-Ol." (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Back as well)) (1046) Niari: "Hey," Niari offers comfortingly as she pushes the carbine's barrel down towards the floor with a soft touch. "It's okay... We're going to get him." (1119) Ferrago: (Are we separated into groups?) ** (1051) Jen Vadur looks at Niari and Kya for a moment, then walks over to the banners on the wall and inspects them ** (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Not sure)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: The girl deflates, her shoulders slumping, and she sets her blaster back in it's holster, turning into Niari and glomming onto her. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: ((Well, you presumably followed the others)) (1119) Ferrago: (Right, I wanted to make sure the others were all in one group. They split up sometimes and I haven't been keeping up.) (1046) Niari: The older Twi'lek hugs Kya tightly for a moment before releasing her and looking around, "Don't let your anger control you, Kya." (1046) Niari: "Now help me look through the desk and the dressers - see if you can find anything to help us bring Jin-Ol down, yes?" (1039) ShadowDragon8685: The girl lets out a sigh audible through the speakers, and nods. Presumably, you guys want to search Jin-Ol's stuff, eh? (1051) Jen Vadur: ((Should I roll a knowledge check for the banners?)) (1046) Niari: (That we do.) (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Yeah, was planning to search as much of the living quarters and cargo hold as we could.)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: It would be Knowledge (Galactic Lore), but it's a Trained Only application. (1051) Jen Vadur: ((Oh well) ** (1119) Ferrago arrives, riding his speeder bike to catch up with them. ** (1119) Ferrago: "Remind me never to wear this suit again. It will smell of mynock intestines => ifor ever onward. => /i" (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Well, you find Jin-Ol's wardrobe. He's tall and lean, like most gungans are, judging by his clothes. You find a pair of fighting gauntlet-claws that fasten around the forearms. (1119) Ferrago: (oops) (1119) Ferrago: for ever onward." (1039) ShadowDragon8685: A few holo-pictures. In one you see Jaz-Am with several other Gungans. One of them has his arm around Jaz-Arm's shoulder. In another you see that same gungan, wearing those claws and triumphantly posing on the bridge of some vessel. (1046) Niari: Niari takes a step away from Ferrago, "Please don't come near me... you've got some..." she points to some gunk on his shoulder, "Still on you. Ugh." She blanches again, visibly, looking like she's about to hurl - but manages to control herself. (1119) Ferrago: "Oh. Huh." He flicks it off." (1119) Ferrago: (oops, minus that last quotation mark) ** (1051) Jen Vadur kneels down to look under the bed ** (1039) ShadowDragon8685: You see what looks like a safe-deposit box under the bed. ** (1051) Jen Vadur pulls it out from under the bed ** (1046) Niari: "Ugh," Niari turns away quickly and resumes her search, checking the strength of those fighting gauntlets. (1055) Morco Jocra: "Well that's probably Jin-Ol, so at least now we know what he looks like for certain." (1039) ShadowDragon8685: It's very, very heavy. You have to resort to telekinesis to move it. (1051) Jen Vadur: "I wonder what Jin-Ol would want to keep safe?" (1051) Jen Vadur: ((Erf)) (1119) Ferrago: "Let's find out!" Ferrago ignites his lightsaber and moves toward the box. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: It's a DC 30 mechanics check to get it... (1046) Niari: "Wait, wait! You might damage the contents..." (1039) ShadowDragon8685: The Jedi Lockpick, eh? That can damage the box's contents, yanno. (1119) Ferrago: Ferrago considers this, then deactivates his saber again. "Spoilsport." (1046) Niari: (Im assuming it's locked with some sort of numerical code?) (1051) Jen Vadur: ((Who has Mechanics?)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: You assume wrong. It's got a full keypad with all the characters of Aurabesh on it. (1119) Ferrago: (Morco) (1046) Niari: (Well, crap.) (1126) Vindille (exit): 19:58 (1051) Jen Vadur: ((Definite crap!)) (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Yep my whopping +9, which means a 20 is needed.)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Which means 20 and some kind of circumstance bonus is needed. (1046) Niari: "Kya, do you think you can help Morco?" (1119) Ferrago: (More than a 20, that would only be 29...) (1051) Jen Vadur: ((Well let's hope for the best hehe)) (1046) Niari: (Kya can give an aid another, Im assuming.) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Fortunately, it's not like you don't have plenty of time. (1046) Niari: (Since she does seem to have some sort of talent for mechanics.) (1051) Jen Vadur: ((Especially with that toolkit)) (1119) Ferrago: (Any chance I could hack it? If I could connect something like a datapad to it...) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: You can try hacking the lock if you like, as well. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: It's also a DC 30. (1119) Ferrago: (Excuse me, slice it.) (1119) Ferrago: (righto) ** (1055) Morco Jocra walks over to the box and looks at it shaking his head. "This is probably beyond my skill to open." ** (1051) Jen Vadur: ((Whichever works)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Hack it, Slice it, Chop it if you have to, just do what you gotta do. (1119) Ferrago: (My use computer bonus is +10, so only a slightly better chance than Morco...) (1046) Niari: (Just take 20 - we have plenty of time.) (1119) Ferrago: (oh, right, duh.) (1051) Jen Vadur: ((There we go, solved...)) (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Should have enough time for taking a 20,)) (1119) Ferrago: "Here, I can slice it. Give me a little time..." (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Ferrago will be a while slicing that box. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Searching the rest of his room yields a handful of credits [2d200] => [161,111] = (272) ** (1055) Morco Jocra moves out of the way. ** (1039) ShadowDragon8685: some skimpy female lingere, slave-girl attire. ** (1051) Jen Vadur looks at the slicing process in wonder ** (1051) Jen Vadur: "It seems Jin-Ol was quite the pirate king." (1039) ShadowDragon8685: kya holds the brassiere up to her (inadequate) chest, and pouts, tossing it behind her. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: It hits... (1039) ShadowDragon8685: [1d4] => [4] = (4) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Niari, you get a brassiere over the helmet (1051) Jen Vadur: ((LOL!!)) (1051) Jen Vadur: ((Maybe you should have the talk with her)) (1046) Niari: "Kya," Niari glances at the younger Twi'lek - can you search the Holonet on your datapad to see what those ban--" She blinks and pulls the brassiere off her helmet, narrowing her eyes. (1055) Morco Jocra: ((LOL, wow hit with lingerie...thats a first from my pPOV)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: "It was probably Jin-Ol's, anyway," she types, mock-petultantly, and shakes her head. "No Holonet access to this station. Not even Hypernet. This is way the hell off the grid." (1051) Jen Vadur: ((Haha!)) (1046) Niari: "Riiiight," Niari grumbles as she tosses the lingerie on the bed. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: The girl digs back into the drawers, as Ferrago slices. (1051) Jen Vadur: "That's a pity, I'm sure there had to be a second in command... I wonder where that room would be." Jen looks on the map on her datapad (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Down the hall, to the left. (1051) Jen Vadur: "Maybe there will be more clues there..." Jen heads off (1046) Niari: "That would be Jaz-Am's, Im guessing." Niari shrugs as Jen heads off. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: It's empty. Barren, indeed, when you get there, but the map does list it as Jaz-Am's. Gotta love nepotism, eh? (1051) Jen Vadur: "Interesting... his uncle must've been very angry when he jumped ship." (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Or possibly, he didn't have time to accumulate much. (1051) Jen Vadur: ((Nice braintease this!)) (1046) Niari: Niari finds a place to sit herself until Ferrago finishes slicing the safe. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Anyway, Ferrago eventually gets open the case. The password? 'Misha Lo-Nij.'.. Not the most intelligent, was he? (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Inside is, well... What do most people keep in blast-proof lockboxes under their beds? Documents and precious treasures, right? ** (1051) Jen Vadur hears the commotion in the other room and heads back ** (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Well unless your a young boy, then it's adult magazines and videos and such.)) (1119) Ferrago: Ferrago pops it open and peers inside. "Let's see what's so valuable..." (1039) ShadowDragon8685: ((Those are still 'documents and precious treasures'. :P )) (1051) Jen Vadur: ((Lol Morco!)) (1055) Morco Jocra: ((True enough...whaaat I said nothing.)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Jin-Ol Ashim is no different. This one contains the deed to some kind of property on Naboo; it seems to be some kind of multi-level underground bunker, and a multi-floor, large estate house, next to one another, in the Naboo highlands. It also contains holos of what seem to be Jin-Ol's own family, dating back to when he was a child, including a news holo of some sort. It's in Gunganese. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: None of you speak Gunganese, I suppose? (1051) Jen Vadur: ((I do!)) (1119) Ferrago: (Not I.) (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Not I)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Ah! Jen does. (1046) Niari: (Hooray!) (1051) Jen Vadur: "Here, let me read it" (1119) Ferrago: (Huzzah!) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: It's a recording of a young Jin-Ol Ashim winning the annual Gungan event, the Big-Nasty-Free-For-All, with absolutely superb wrestling skills. (1119) Ferrago: "You know the language?" (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Woot!)) (1051) Jen Vadur: "I am from Naboo... the Gungans were friendly enough to teach me." (1039) ShadowDragon8685: I should point out, by the way, the property? (1039) ShadowDragon8685: The deed specifies that they're in the name of "bearer". (1119) Ferrago: (Oho. OHOHOHOHO.) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Presumably, he didn't want to put the name of a known pirate on the deed, and was planning to retire under a false name eventually. (1119) Ferrago: (Yoink~) (1051) Jen Vadur: ((Mine mine, hehe!)) (1051) Jen Vadur: "Well that's expected." (1119) Ferrago: "What is?" (1039) ShadowDragon8685: There's another one, a bubble-dome in Utoh Gungah, but it's in the name of "Jak-Am Ashim," presumably Jin-Ol's own father. (1051) Jen Vadur: "This deed specifies that it is in the name of the bearer... typical pirate." (1046) Niari: "We should consider turning these deeds over to Master Skywalker as well, with the financial difficulties the Academy is currently suffering..." (1051) Jen Vadur: "And there's another in Utoh Gungah, but in his father's name most likely... Jak-Am Ashim." (1051) Jen Vadur: "Yes, I think so too Niari... these could greatly help the matters at the Academy." (1119) Ferrago: "And sell it? We should keep it as a base." (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Anyway, that's his treasures. That's what Jin-Ol Ashim felt the need to lock up. Not a box-full of credits. Not some secret of the galaxy. The deeds to some property on Naboo and childhood mementos so precious he intended them to survive even the destruction of his space station. (1051) Jen Vadur: ((Everyone has good in them... somewhere.)) (1046) Niari: "If Master Skywalker feels it's worthwhile to establish a base on Naboo, now he has the ability to... If he feels it's better of sold..." (1046) Niari: Niari shrugs. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Anyway... (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Would you like to survey the cargo hold? (1051) Jen Vadur: ((Yes)) (1119) Ferrago: "Let's just keep it for now! Go check the place out before we turn it over to anyone. There's no hurry." (1051) Jen Vadur: "I'm going to check out the cargo hold... we'll keep the deeds and decide what to do with them later." (1046) Niari: "If you want," Niari nods to Ferrago, not really interested in material possessions, "It doesnt make a difference to me either way." (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Arguments of the disposition of the property aside, Kya has finished her search of the drawers, and the only other remotely interesting thing she found was a bottle of lotion of some kind, which seems to excite her, but she puts it in a cargo pocket on her EV suit. There's many cargo spaces on this station, most of them completely barren. Two are not barren, however. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: I've taken the luxury of compiling a list for you. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: The station's cargo holds contains the following, in two holds: Medical Supplies: Bacta, 14 tons, in 50-liter drums. Pharmaceuticals, 6 tons, loaded on palettes. Foodstuffs: Exotic delicacies, 1 ton, sealed in vacuum crate. Exotic Dairy Products (Cheese), 1 ton, sealed in maturation crate. Common fruits, 14 tons, sealed in vacuum crate. Common meats, 16 tons, sealed in refigerated nitrogen. Common bulk grains, 2 tons, sealed in standardized shipping container. Container damaged, product spoiled. Equipment: Vehicle parts, 30 tons (Landspeeder/Bike repair parts), sealed in shipping foam Power Packs and Energy Cells, Qty 300, 3 tons, loaded on pallets in consumer packaging. Electrobinoculars, Qty 100, 5 tons, loaded on pallets in consumer packaging. Luxury Goods: Quality Clothing, 1 ton, sealed in shipping crate. Quality Furniture, 2 tons, locked in armored crate (DC 30 Mechanics checks) Consumable goods, 5 tons, locked in shipping crate (DC 15 Mechanics check) Industrial Equipment: Rare ores, 4 tons, loaded in repulsorlift hoppers Common ores, 8 tons, loaded in repulsorlift hoppers. Industrial Metals, 10 tons, loaded in crates. Construction materials, 10 tons, loaded on palettes. Droids ASP series labor droid, Qty 10, 5 tons, packed in crates. (1046) Niari: (No transport ships?) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Not a one. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: And the Phoenix is almost full to the absolute brim. (1051) Jen Vadur: "Well this station is very well organised I see... that's why it's such a good idea to commandeer it, in a way." (1046) Niari: "T3," Niari calls out over the comms, "Once you're finished with the systems - make a list of the contents of the cargo hold and send a relay to the Academy as soon as you are able, letting them know we've secured a waypoint for them to use. And if they can get a ship to pick up the goods - it should help their finances somewhat. If not, we'll try and pick them up on the way back once we get ahold of the shield generator and the transport ship..." (1046) Niari: "It should help with the rebuilding efforts," Niari muses to herself. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: T3 replies in the affirmative. By the time you're done surveying the cargo holds for yourselves, the station restart is finished. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Well, 10 tons of construction materials, absolutely will. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: The rest.... Well, yeah. The Academy could use all of it. (1051) Jen Vadur: "I agree." (1039) ShadowDragon8685: T3 proudly reports that the station is online, and it now recognizes Jin-Ol Ashim and his crew as enemies. You are all considered to be commanders, by the way, as are all the Jedi. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Which means that, yes, the droids are still saluting you. (1051) Jen Vadur: "That's wonderful T3, good job!" (1046) Niari: "Good work, T3." Niari offers, "Give the crew of the Bantha my thanks as well..." (1046) Niari: She turns to the others, "Is there anything else we need to do here - or should we make for Jin-Ol's wintering berth?" (1051) Jen Vadur: "Nothing I'm interested in... I'm ready to head off to his little resort." (1046) Niari: "Ferrago? Morco? (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Kya seems determined to pry into one of the crates of consumable goods.. (1055) Morco Jocra: "As am I, I believe we've lingered here long enough." (1039) ShadowDragon8685: She's got her toolbelt out and is working at i. (1119) Ferrago: "Nah, let's get out of here." (1046) Niari: "There's plenty of those onboard the Phoenix," Niari nudges Kya. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: She shakes her head, looking up. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: "Read the label closely," she answers. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: (("Consumable goods" are not the same as "Consumables". "Consumables" are food.)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: (("Consumable goods" are the throw-away stuff typical of modern living.)) ** (1051) Jen Vadur glances over at the pair ** (1046) Niari: (Yeah, I got that. We do have food on the Phoenix...) (1046) Niari: (...right?) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: ((Plenty of.)) (1046) Niari: (Ohh... I see now.) (1055) Morco Jocra: "Well I'll head back to the Phoenix and prepare it for take off, let (1046) Niari: "What could possibly be in there that you need?" (1046) Niari: (I misread what you said. :D) (1055) Morco Jocra: "Well I'll head back to the Phoenix and prepare it for take off, let's hope we don't have a repeat of window crashers as we had upon arrival." (1046) Niari: Niari glances over the label of the crate, seeing if there is a list of the contents. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: The label is in Ryl. whispering to Niari, It's a brand name. You don't recognize the brand name. (1051) Jen Vadur: ((Strange)) (1046) Niari: Niari scans the label, "I don't recongize the name, Kya. What is it?" (1119) Ferrago: (So did Nico quit the game, or what?) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: She taps out the word "Oils" in her datapad, as she works to coax the box's lid open. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: ((He said he would be here.)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: ((I don't know WTF happened. Perhaps some kind of accident?)) (1051) Jen Vadur: ((I've been wondering the same thing)) (1046) Niari: "Oh," her eyes widen slightly and she lends Kya a hand. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Kya's Mechanics mod is +7, she's trained. Are you trained? (1046) Niari: (Not in the least. But it's not going to stop Niari from helping if she can.) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: All right, roll it. You're gunning for DC 10. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: half your level plus your int mod. (1046) Niari: [1d20+5] => [12,5] = (17) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: I'm gonna laugh if she fucks the roll and you've made a high enough roll to do it on your own. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: [1d20+9] => [5,9] = (14) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: BWahahahaahaah! (1051) Jen Vadur: ((Haha!!)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: despite your help, Kya's thinking too fast - or too slow - and you get in each other's way, causing the lock to seize upon the tool she's using to try and drill it out, shattering the bit (1046) Niari: "Oh, well..." She frowns and draws her lightsaber, activating the blade and delicately maneuvering the weapon to cut away at the lock. (1046) Niari: "You guys go get the ship ready, Kya and I will join you as soon as we get this bloody thing open..." (1119) Ferrago: "Oh, sure. When I want to cut the box open, oh no, it could damage the contents! When YOU want to cut the box open, that's fine and peachy." (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Making a "Mechanics" check, I see? Okay, roll "Mechanics." The roll is 1d20 + your BAB + your Strength score (or your Dex, if you have the Weapon Finesse feat). (1051) Jen Vadur: "I'll stay a while, I want to see what this box holds." (1046) Niari: "Mechanics" check: [1d20+10] => [17,10] = (27) (1046) Niari: "It's just oils," Niari shrugs as she works at the lock. "Kya and I were talking about them the other day..." (1039) ShadowDragon8685: That would've damaged the contents of that lockbox... But it's more than sufficient to open this without damaging the contents. (1046) Niari: "For massaging your muscles..." She sighs with relief as the lock falls away, deactivating the weapon with a whirr and stowing it back on the belt of the EV suit. (1051) Jen Vadur: "Oh, back problems?" (1046) Niari: "Among other things," the Twi'lek grins. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Kya flips the lid up and off the box with a shove of her hand, and reaches in. She pulls out a relatively large box of flimsiplas; it's consumer packaging, ready for store shelves; seems to be a box containing many different bottles, some of them very large, some of them small and tiny. Shrinkwrapped to the larger box is a bonus pack of cosmetics, and Kya grins, looking as though she's giggling. whispering to Niari, You hear a giggle, and the word "Score", though her lips aren't moving. Her 'voice' is thrilled, happy. (1051) Jen Vadur: ((Jackpot then!)) (1046) Niari: Niari's grin matches Kya's own and she grabs her own box, glancing at Kya for a moment. She made a mental note to talk to the girl later - and in private - she didn't want to embarass her in front of the others. "Alright, let's go..." (1051) Jen Vadur: "Alright." (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Perhaps greedily - or perhaps simply in the spirit of stocking up - Kya grabs a second box, then she looks to Jen and offers her one of the ones in her arms. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: ((Ahh, poor Ferrago, poor Morco. Fallen silent they have, by the wayside they lay.)) (1051) Jen Vadur: "Thank you Kya, that's very kind of you." (1046) Niari: Niari heads off to the tram, ready to head back to the (hopefully) now clean Phoenix. (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Not silent, Morco went ahead to the ship and began preparing it for take off.)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: ((Ahh, fair enough.)) (1119) Ferrago: (sorry) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Anyway, yes. The Phoenix has been cleaned, and T3-TT and the Alderaanians are already boarding. T3-TT informs you that he's already left orders for the station's batteries to fire repeatedly through the swarm with their turbolasers and laser cannons, which should hopefully keep a corridor clear. (1119) Ferrago: (Hey, just to make sure... you did get my message about being late, right?) (1119) Ferrago: (Just wanna make sure I wasn't springing it on you.) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: ((Yeah, I did.)) (1119) Ferrago: (Okay. Sorry about that.) (1119) Ferrago: (I had to do something for one of my classes...) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Anyway, ready to go and end Jin-Ol Ashim? (1046) Niari: (That we are.) (1119) Ferrago: (Rather.) (1051) Jen Vadur: ((Very ready!)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: All right, good. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: I've held off on this until now to ensure you all have it fresh in your minds. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: The briefing on the Fortress Shield the pirates stole. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: It's a new form of shield, virtually impenetrable. The unique thing is it's range - it can project far, far from the structure or vessel it's defending. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: However, vessels so equipped are unable to move while the Fortress shield is active. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: In effect, it creates a bubble for ships in a battle to retreat into. Enemy vessels' fire cannot penetrate in, and enemy vessels cannot get in. However, friendly ships can, by spending a standard action to move through the shield. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: You have to be going slow to do it, however. (1051) Jen Vadur: ((That's handy)) (1046) Niari: (Hmm. Was T3 able to gain clearance codes for friendly ships?) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Yeah, well, that's the shield that's supposed to be protecting the Jedi Academy. You kind of need it back. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: He doesn't have to, the Alderaanians already had it. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: They installed the thing, and they destroyed the documentation, so Jin-Ol Ashim only had their word to go on. (1046) Niari: (Right.) (1046) Niari: (Well, I understand it well enough then.) (1119) Ferrago: (Can fire get out?) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: No, it can't, with the exception of concussion missiles. (1119) Ferrago: (That is, can a vessel inside the shield fire out of it?) (1119) Ferrago: (Mmkay.) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Concussion missiles can launch slowly, slide out of the shield, and then fire to full. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Do you see the map? (1051) Jen Vadur: ((Not yet)) (1055) Morco Jocra: ((All I see is the pic of the space station.)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: I changed map... (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Does it say fetching? (1046) Niari: (Newp.) (1051) Jen Vadur: ((Still station)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Let's try it now. (1046) Niari: (fetching now) (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Fetching...)) (1046) Niari: (And there we go.) (1055) Morco Jocra: ((...there we go.)) (1051) Jen Vadur: ((Got i)) (1119) Ferrago: (thar she blows) (1051) Jen Vadur: ((Very nice map!)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Thanks. (1055) Morco Jocra: ((So which ship is occupied by who?)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: As per usual, Morco and Niari are flying the Reek, Ferrago is the gunner aboard the Phoenix (Nico is piloting,) and Jen Vadur is piloting the N1 starfighter. (1119) Ferrago: Hey, did we take his recordings and such? (1119) Ferrago: All the other contents of his lockbox? (1119) Ferrago: Or just his deed? (1039) ShadowDragon8685: You can have if you wanted to. (1119) Ferrago: Was just wondering if we could bargain with him... (1051) Jen Vadur: ((Might be a good idea, although he might be too mad to care...)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: You come out of hyperspace to find two very strong energy signatures ahead. The Phoenix's comms and bridge are fully crewed, and the Alderaanians report that one of those signatures is definitely the Fortress Shield. The other is a space station; a large beast, to be sure, though not nearly as large as an Imperial Star Destroyer. (1119) Ferrago: (True. Was just a thought.) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: It's more like a platform, literally. You can see people on it, without EV suits, standing below the stars, with the zoom-windows the droids provide as you come out of hyperspace on the far side of the gas giant's rings. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: This station is also using a beam of some sort to draw gas from the planetoid below, but it's drawing much, much more. (1051) Jen Vadur: ((We probably look too hostile to land right?)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: The station has relatively light laser cannon platforms - you should recognize them, they're the same sort that were on the Jeel canyon run. Probably he bought them from Gakarra. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Well, since he recognizes two of your three ships as the ships that attacked him last time... (1039) ShadowDragon8685: You can start anywhere within four squares of the south edge of the map. (1046) Niari: (Well, Morco's piloting - so wherever he decides is fine with me. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: As soon as you jump out of hyperspace, you hear (over open comms) a Gungan voice yelling," Whassa dat? We got company! It's da guys from last time, an' dey brought friends! Geesa move on, scramble, scramble!" (1055) Morco Jocra: ((That space works for me.)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Your droids show you the bizzare and fascinating sight as the pilots on the platforms run to their ships. The TIE pilots are in full flight suits, but the ones running for those Gun Tugs are in normal clothes; they are standing under the platform, under open space, seemingly without issue. (1051) Jen Vadur: ((I'm fine with where I am)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: This is no ordinary place. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Ferrago, since Nico's not here, it's your choice as to where you fly. Same as last time. (1051) Jen Vadur: ((You got that right)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: He's not going to take risks, just double-move. (1119) Ferrago: (Aww, I hate being in charge) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Would you like me to decide where the ship moves? :P (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Kya could be flying... :) (1119) Ferrago: Ferrago talks over the same comm channel. "You've got something that belongs to us, Jin-Ol." (1119) Ferrago: (Scary.) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: The voice on the channel that returns is different. "Oh yah? Wassa you gonna do about it?" (1055) Morco Jocra: "Take it back any way we can." (1039) ShadowDragon8685: "Casin' ya haven't counted, yousa outnumbered two-ta-one. I thinkin' you in a bombard world o' hurt you don't turn around and fly outta here." (1046) Niari: "Only two-to-one? Not enough, Jin-Ol." (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Silence for a moment, then, "Den come an' get it!" (1039) ShadowDragon8685: ((Hang on, gotta sing happy birthday to my dog)) (1119) Ferrago: "I don't know, I probably shouldn't mess with you. You're real tough, with the way you won that... What was it? Big-Nasty-Free-For-All?" (1039) ShadowDragon8685: ((BRB)) (1119) Ferrago: Ferrago laughs. (1051) Jen Vadur: ((HAHA!!!)) (1051) Jen Vadur: ((Claps hands to the beat of the happy bday song!)) (1119) Ferrago: (Aww, happy birthday, GM's doggy.) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: ((Sorry, back)) (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Welcome back, and happy b-day to your pup/dog whichever it is.)) (1051) Jen Vadur: ((...lala laaa la la la la... la lala la la laaaaa!)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Roll for initiative, please. (1051) Jen Vadur: ((Hooray!)) (1051) Jen Vadur: Initiative [1d20+10] => [8,10] = (18) (1046) Niari: (Ill just use Morco's...) (1051) Jen Vadur: ((Normal initiative?)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: You can roll Initiative or Pilot. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: It's modified by your ship's Size modifier. (1051) Jen Vadur: ((Erm so is mine right?)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Yeah. You and your ship roll for initiative as one (1055) Morco Jocra: Use the Froce check for Pilot check(thanks to Force Poilot) for Initiative check [1d20+15] => [6,15] = (21) (1119) Ferrago: [1d20+8] => [2,8] = (10) (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Not sure what the size modifier is for the Reek, can't recall the page it's on to figure it out. Or is it listed in the write-up somewhere and I missed it.)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: It's -5. (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Alright then Init is only a 16.)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: The Phoenix's is -10 (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Wait a minute. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: I'm sorry. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Initiative isn't modified by size mod. (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Well mine is either 21 without modifiers..or 16 with size modifier)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: TIE Fighters: [1d20+8] => [15,8] = (23); TIE Interceptors: [1d20+11] => [2,11] = (13); Gun-Tugs: [1d20+1] => [6,1] = (7) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Order of Battle: Initiative: TIE Fighters: 23 Morco & Niari: 21 Jen: 18 TIE Interceptors: 13 Ferrago: 10 Gun Tugs: 7 Laser Cannon Turrets: 0 (1119) Ferrago: (Then what's it modified by?) (1119) Ferrago: (The Phoenix said -5 initiative on the page, so I subtracted from 13...) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: With the default crew, it was. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Wait... (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Guh? (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Nevermind it. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: The TIE fighters' initiative isn't modified by their size. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: So I'll presume it's not meant to be. (1119) Ferrago: (Okay... so would my initiative be 15, then?) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: No, we'll just go with what I put up there. (1119) Ferrago: (Okay.( (1119) Ferrago: *) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Anyway, it's going to take a turn for the enemy crews to reach their ships. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: So, you may feel free to move as you please (1051) Jen Vadur: ((I'll wait here)) (1046) Niari: Disconnecting from server... (1046) Niari (exit): 21:38 (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Er... Why? (1212) Niari (enter): 21:38 (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Niari got booted, she's coming back. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: There she is. Attempting to assign the role of PLAYER to (1212) Niari... (1205) Luxor(charlie) (enter): 21:38 (1212) Niari: (Hmm.) (1212) Niari: (Alright, all set. Sorry golkds.) (1212) Niari: (*folks.) (1051) Jen Vadur: ((No worries)) (1205) Luxor(charlie) (exit): 21:39 (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Anyway, folks, you have a round to close with the bad guys before they even get into their fighters. (1051) Jen Vadur: ((Oh, argh, I was confused... let's get closer)) (1055) Morco Jocra: ((So I'll make a pilot check to increase my speed.)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Alright, roll it. (1055) Morco Jocra: [1d20+15] => [16,15] = (31) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: You increase your speed by 3 squares, from 4 to 7. That, with double-moving, will let you get really close if you wish. (1205) Luxor(charlie) (enter): 21:41 (1119) Ferrago: (Can Nico also do that?) (1119) Ferrago: (Despite not being here to roll it.) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Since I don't have his pilot modifier... No. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Unless you want Kya to roll and risk a breakdown... (1119) Ferrago: (Mmkay.) (1119) Ferrago: (I'm good, thanks.) (1205) Luxor(charlie): Disconnecting from server... (1205) Luxor(charlie) (exit): 21:42 ** (1055) Morco Jocra grabs the controls for the starfighter and pushes it beyond it's normal speed hoping to ensure that Niari can get a good shot off before the fighters get into the battle. "Nico if you can, try to keep up." ** (1051) Jen Vadur: ((Moves as close to the Phoenix as she can)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Niari, you're in Long range of that laser cannon platform down there (1051) Jen Vadur: ((Oh yeah wait I can move about 16 squares...)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: 16 squares? How do you figure? (1039) ShadowDragon8685: The N1's base speed is 4, double move is 8. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: To move 16, you have to make an all-out move, which means you need a clear line of flight (1051) Jen Vadur: ((Erk, nvm... brain freeze)) (1215) Luxor(charlie) (enter): 21:45 (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Or you could roll Pilot to increase your speed as a Swift Action. (1051) Jen Vadur: ((That's ok)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: (1039) ShadowDragon8685: ((Just a helpful reminder)) (1051) Jen Vadur: ((Kewl, thanks!)) (1212) Niari: Niari adjusts her position in the seat, readying herself for the inevitable conflict as the Reek finds itself, once again, at the head of the pack. (1212) Niari: (FYI Morco: we've only got ONE torpedo left.) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Well, you have control of the torpedos. It's up to you what you spend it on. (1212) Niari: (Yeah, just letting Morco know though.) (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Alright, thanks for letting me know but as Shadow said you're the one in control of it.)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: All right... (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Niari, you can fire if you'd like (1212) Niari: (They're out of range of the lasers and Im not wasting the torpedo just yet.) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: You could try to hit that laser cannon emplacement with a long-range laser sho. (1212) Niari: (Especially not on a long range shot.) (1212) Niari: (ohh, didnt realize that's what they were. Will do.) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: It has cover and it's a real long-shot... (1039) ShadowDragon8685: But hey, it can't hurt to roll the dice and maybe get lucky. (1212) Niari: Niari carefully lines up a shot on the laser emplacement, though she realizes its highly unlikely she'll be able to hit them from here.. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Taking a shot with the chin turret, or do you still have the big gun under your control? (1212) Niari: [1d20+9-10] => [7,9,-10] = (6) (1212) Niari: (I assumed we would have switched it to Morco on the trip.) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Right, so had I. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: I was just asking. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Anyway, you miss. Horribly. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Laser blasts score the platform and fly off to the gas giant below. (1212) Niari: "Ugh," Niari berates herself, "Need to get closer before I try anything..." (1039) ShadowDragon8685: The TIE/ln fighter's pilots have reached their starfighters, and you hear the howl as your starship's computers helpfully simulate the sound of the Twin Ion Engines starting up. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: They approach cautiously, making double moves. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Morco, Niari, you're up/ (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Single move then firing at one of the TIE/In)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: They both have cover. They have Ref Def 20. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Take the shot. If you hit with that big booma... (1055) Morco Jocra: ((range penalty is -2 correct?)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Yes, and you have a +2 bonus for firing a Pilot weapon. (1051) Jen Vadur: ((Aha!)) (1055) Morco Jocra: Attack Roll [1d20+8] => [9,8] = (17) (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Damn should spent the FP like I was thinking.)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: The big boomer's shot goes wild, meeting a rapidly-moving chunk of ice, turning it into an explosion of water vaper and shards. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Niari, you're up. (1212) Niari: : "This is better," Niari whispers to herself as the TIE pilots come into view, flashing towards the Reek. She braces herself as Morco sends the ship into maneuvers before locking onto one of the Interceptors and opening fire. [1d20+9-2] => [15,9,-2] = (22) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Stunt 1, but unnessessary to roll: hit! (1212) Niari: (Is the 20 Reflex with cover or without?) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Roll damage. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: that's with. (1051) Jen Vadur: ((Well done)) (1212) Niari: [(4d10+3)*2] => 50 (1039) ShadowDragon8685: You send yellow lasers flying in his specific direction, your yellow laser beams battering through the TIE/ln's wing panels, blowing out three panels on his right wing and two on his left. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Jen, you're up. (1051) Jen Vadur: ((Double move then... gotta get closer)) (1051) Jen Vadur: ((Done)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: The TIE interceptors get their asses of the ground, moving in to support their cousins with their beefier quad-linked laser cannons. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: They're both going to fire at the Reek, trying to line up shots through the asteroids. (1212) Niari: "Here they come..." Niari calls out, "The rest of you guys better get up here quick!" (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Vehicular Combat allows me to potentially shrug off a hit, yes?)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Yes. (1051) Jen Vadur: "I'm moving as fast as I can, but I'll be there." (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Alright, wanted to make sure.)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: [1d20+7-5] => [7,7,-5] = (9) [1d20+7-10] => [10,7,-10] = (7) (1212) Niari: (As I also have Vehicular Combat, is it possible to lend him an Aid Another action of necessary?) (1212) Niari: (Although it is apparently not.) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Mmmmh. You're the copilt. You could ready an action to do so, if you needed, but it's unnessessary. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: These guys aren't the best of shots, though they send an energetic barrage of quadlaser fire at you through the asteroids. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Ferrago, you're a go-go. (1051) Jen Vadur: ((Ferraaaaaago)) (1119) Ferrago: (Full move.) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: You can still fire, since Nico's piloting. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: You could take a Long shot at that wounded TIE, even though he has cover. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: You never know, you might get lucky. (1119) Ferrago: (They're extremely far away from me...) (1119) Ferrago: (But okay.) (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Almost assuredly kill it if you hit.)) (1119) Ferrago: (I'll take an aim action at the wounded TIE...) (1119) Ferrago: (To negate the cover bonus.) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Cover: eliminated. (1212) Niari: (I... forgot about Aim actions. Thank you for reminding me.) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: ((And me, mwahaha)) (1119) Ferrago: (Attack bonus is...) (1119) Ferrago: (BAB+Ship's int mod?) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Yep. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: +2 for you, since you have HWP and Vehiclular Tactics at a turret's controls. (1119) Ferrago: (Mmkay) (1119) Ferrago: Ferrago aims the laser cannons carefully, aiming across the long distance, past the Reek. "Keep her steady, Nico..." (1119) Ferrago: It's a long shot, but he takes it. (1119) Ferrago: [1d20+9] => [2,9] = (11) (1119) Ferrago: (I also rolled a 2 on my Initiative) (1119) Ferrago: (The roller hates me so much) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: No amount of steady flying could have prevented that asteroid from straying into your line of fire. (1055) Morco Jocra: ((At least you didn't roll a 1, so be happy about that.)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: The Gun Tugs have pilots, they lift off and start flying towards you, double moving. (1119) Ferrago: (oh yeah? be happy about your face) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: The laser cannon emplacements now have gunners, who have been sighting in on the Reek. They take careful aim, and both of them unleash long shots: [1d20+5-10] => [17,5,-10] = (12) [1d20+5-10] => [3,5,-10] = (-2) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: After what seems like a long silence, you hear the pirate you've been looking for. "Yousa been in my room?! Ooooh, yousa gonna be so sorry yousa did that, yousa mommas wish yousa never been concieved! (1055) Morco Jocra: "Yeah like your parents regret meeting to have had you?" (1039) ShadowDragon8685: No response. (1051) Jen Vadur: ((That's so mean, lol!)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: TIE fighters' turns again. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: They close rapidly with the Reek, risking colissions with the asteroids to get there faster. (1119) Ferrago: "It would be too bad if one of your men took out our ships, and all those precious memories went up in the explosion." (1119) Ferrago: "Not to mention that deed of yours, eh?" (1039) ShadowDragon8685: [1d20+8] => [15,8] = (23) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: [1d20+8] => [7,8] = (15) (1119) Ferrago: "Sure, you'd have a victory today, but you'd have nothing to look back on, and no place to retire to when you're old and gray." (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Pilot check time to negate that I suppose.)) (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Do I take a size penalty to the check to negate the hit?)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: They both spin over the surface of the asteroid, getting to within point-blank range and unloading at the reek, as Jin-Ol growls. "I can get meesa another set a digs if I gotta... Kill 'dem all!" (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Those were their rolls to avoid the rocks (1039) ShadowDragon8685: If they'd rolled 14 or less, they'd have been humped. (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Ah alright.)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Now come their attack rolls: [1d20+6-1] => [19,6,-1] = (24) [1d20+6] => [6,6] = (12) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: The damaged starfighter is either lucky or good... (1039) ShadowDragon8685: [4d10*2] => 40 (1055) Morco Jocra: ((I'm prepared to spend a DP during this battle to save my ass anyways, had to every major battle thus far.)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Ah well, that's not so bad, is it? You have SR and DR. (1055) Morco Jocra: ((So the ship takes 5, pretty sad damage after all.)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: You only take 5 HP damage, and remember that you add your HP, Niari's HP, to 120. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: But your SR drops to 20. Your droid, Diver, squeals, and restores it to 25 on his turn. (1055) Morco Jocra: ((What is Niari's HP so I know how much I'm addint to it from her?)) (1212) Niari: (92.) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Speaking of which, it is now YOUR turn! (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Morco, Niari, you're up! (1212) Niari: : Niari struggled to keep her senses as the window in front of her was lit up by the steady flashes of the TIE's guns. The constant movement of the ship from Morco as he did his best to avoid the barrage didn't help. Neither did the glancing blow from the laser fire. She blinked once, then twice, clearing away the distractions as best as she could before focusing on her job. "Patience," Niari murmured as she focused on locking a target in her sights. Her eyes flashed across the console, back and forth as she checked and double checked the readings that provided her with the requisite information. "Aim and..." she whispers until at the target locks cleanly, "Fire." (Aim action. Firing at the wounded TIE fighter.) [1d20+9] => [14,9] = (23) (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Well with your 92 HP, my 95 HP and the ships 120 HP...its got a total of 307 HP)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Stunt 2. Collect your FP, and fuck a bitch up. (1212) Niari: [(4d10+3)*2] => 58 (1212) Niari: (I heart FP.) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: your laser blasts meet a perfect conjuncture of the galaxy, a sweet combination of space and time in which your laser fire and the TIE fighter occupy the same location at the same time. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: The result is the Eyeball frying out, blowing into a hundred million pieces, now a collection of ballistic debries that will some day fall into the gas giant below you. (1212) Niari: "Get the other one, Morco," Niari grits her teeth and fights back a grin - forcing herself to remain calm. (1119) Ferrago: (I'm too tired to be jealous today of how you constantly get stunts) (1119) Ferrago: (I'm too tired to try, also) whispering to Niari, You hear a loud "Yeah!" in your cockpit - or was it in your head? (1039) ShadowDragon8685: It's because she plans ahead. That's the secret to leet stunting. (1212) Niari: "Thank you, Kya," Niari chuckles into the comms before she can stop herself. (1212) Niari: (Oh yeah... I write the next action as soon as my last one is done. ;) ) ** (1055) Morco Jocra shook his head briefly getting over the shock of being hit. He cursed under his breath then smiles slightly as the ship seems to be fine, he takes the control and turns the ship ever so slightly to get the Tie Fighter in his sights. He then closes his aeyes allowing the force to flow through him in his attempt to target the ship(activating Target Sense starship manuever). Once he was sure of his targeting he fired opening his eyes, he then decided to move without waiting to see if the ship was destroyed to engage the next fighter. ** (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Stunt 2. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Right. Go for it. (1055) Morco Jocra: ((So I should be adding +5 on top of my no penalty hit.)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: But you lose the vehicle's INT bonus. (1055) Morco Jocra: ((I thought there Def was a 20)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Target Sense is for when you have a higher CHA than your ship's INT. (1055) Morco Jocra: ((nevermind)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: No, it's 15. They had Cover last time, they no longer do. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: But, if you don't have the INT bonus... (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Then it would only be a 12, unless I can spend the banked FP?)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: You can try spending an FP. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Sure. Diver squeals unhappily as the four green laser blasts rampage through your shields, smashing off engine cowlings, a redundant sensor mast, and tearing through a power coupling to the interial dampeners. Your bodies lurch suddenly as the ship's not as dampened as it was, the ship falling to a -1 step on the condition track. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: The second one only manages to have one beam find you, at a glancing angle, splattering off the shields harmlessly. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Phoenix Sunrise's. (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Alright that leaves us at 243 if I'm not mistaken.)) (1212) Niari: Niari shouts out in panic, a string of words in Ryl that only Kya is likely to understand (and ones that would probably make the girl blush) as the blast slams into the broadside of the Reek. She forces herself to calm down, gritting her teeth as she readies for the next pass. (1119) Ferrago: (Phoenix Hawk, Ebon Sunrise, same difference.) whispering to Niari, Your screens come alite with a second source of targeting data from the Phoenix starts to beam itself into your fighter, giving your additional tracking data for the TIE interceptor that just hit you. whispering to Niari, It's an Aid Another on your next attack. (1119) Ferrago: "We still haven't caught up... Bring us in closer!" As Nico flies the ship further toward the battle, it turns and almost looks like it's about to crash into a TIE Interceptor. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: It's a gross miss. (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Yes the original one that hit me...unfortunately yes. However it might confuse the other ship next turn.)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: The Ackbar Slash is a stupid maneouver as written, isn't it? (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Yeah, but it can have it's uses...as anything can.)) (1212) Niari: (Not necessarily. If you use it in conjunction with a successful Pilot check/Vehicular Combat it can be pretty useful.) (1212) Niari: (Unsure if that is RAW though.) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Anyway, the other pilot angrily asks what the hell his partner is doing, and the partner responds that the damn bogie ducked - the distraction letting him easily lunch on laser from the Phoenix. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Still no answer from Jen. ** (1039) ShadowDragon8685 growls. ** (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Right so for future knowledge I want to use Ackbar Slash in conjunction with anything that negates a hit on my ship...namely Vehicular Combat.)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Order of Battle: Initiative: Morco & Niari: 21 Jen: 18 TIE Interceptors: 13 Ferrago: 10 Gun Tugs: 7 Laser Cannon Turrets: 0 (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Morc, Niari, you're up again. ** (1055) Morco Jocra takes a deep steadying breath as he calms himself and blocks out any possible distractions from the excited droid. He looks the situation over and rather than try and do anything fancy he moves the Reek enough to have one of them in his sights and takes a shot hoping to finish of this Interceptor before the gun ships get in close. However he notices the gun ships close in and his plan is blown to hell. ** (1212) Niari: : "Thank you, Kya," the Twi'lek breathed softly into her comms, glancing over the added targeting data flashing over her display. She shifted her focus on to the next opponent. She had to remind herself not to get too cocky - because that is when the worst was always bound to happen. Instead Niari forced herself to remain calm and collected - that was the Jedi way, and Niari was beginning to see the wisdom in not surrendering to your emotions. Still, she couldn't help but feel a little giddy at the prospect of continuing to shoot down ore of these pirates, especially the one that nearly caused her to loser her sense of self. And there was that tingle of fear that tickled up her spine as one of the lasers blasted through the shield and scored a particularly nasty hit. But she couldn't focus on either of those - instead, Niari focused on a singular target - the Interceptor flashing by the starboard side of the Reek. Licking her lips, Niari swiveled her guns around - locking on and releasing another barrage of laser fire at the Interceptor trailing smoke. [1d20+9-1+2] => [20,9,-1,2] = (30) (1212) Niari: (Hmm, if Morco is going to target the wounded interceptor - I'll focus on one of the Tugs.) (1055) Morco Jocra: ((I was going to target the fresh one and hope to take it out.)) (1212) Niari: (Ahh...) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Oh, oh hoh, hohoho. Boom. (1055) Morco Jocra: Attack Roll [1d20+10] => [20,10] = (30) (1212) Niari: (O.O) (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Sweet natural crit, I think that ship got pwned.)) (1212) Niari: (Dude. We rock.) (1212) Niari: (Two crits!) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: All right, who were you two shooting for? (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Ah I musta missed your attack roll, sweet.)) (1212) Niari: (Niari is going to take out the wounded one.) (1212) Niari: [(4d10+3)*2] => 30 (1055) Morco Jocra: ((I was aiming for the fresh Interceptor)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: All right, and Morco, you're shooting the wounded one? Ahh. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Wow... That was underwhelming. (1055) Morco Jocra: ((No the fresh one.)) (1212) Niari: (...to say the least.) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Almost makes me wish we were still playing with doubled crits. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: At least it's still going to fuck him up and push him further down the condition track. (1055) Morco Jocra: ((So what happens with a crit again?)) (1212) Niari: (Ditto.) (1212) Niari: (Automatically drops -1 on the condition track.) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Instead of doubling damage (which we determined was too lethal,) crits now automatically push the target down the condition track at least one step, and if the damage drops them another step from going over the threshold, it becomes a -2 Persistant condition. (1055) Morco Jocra: Right then Damage Roll [(7d10+3)*2] => 86 (1039) ShadowDragon8685: TIE interceptors have a threshold of 34, though, so... (1039) ShadowDragon8685: [90-76] => 14 (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Damn not enough to finish him off...oh well)) (1119) Ferrago: (I think I'm taking Force Disarm as my other new Force power. Hey, when we take Force Training, don't we also get Starship Tactics?) (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Yep...one for one and vice versa)) (1119) Ferrago: (Cool beans.) (1055) Morco Jocra: ((This would probly be easier if Jen was here and able to participate, but stuff happens.)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: The Reek puts out a lot of fire, unfortunately the Reek's power plant isn't quite performing up to full efficiency since that last hit, and the power cost of the cannon going off robs the chin-turret of it's full potential. Instead of roaring lances of rage, Niari's chin turret gets piercing little pinpricks of hurt, lancing through the squint's ball-cockpit, searing through important couplings. The same cannot be said for the cannon's blast, which takes the whole frigging top off the TIE interceptor. Miraculously, it's holding together, and even more miraculously, the pilot apparently ducked - as you flash by, you see what you imagine is a very startled pilot, now with a panoramic, cockpit-less view of the sky in his helmet. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Diver squeals, and apparently decides that shields are more important than locking down that inertial dampener coupling, and he chooses to Restore Shields to 20. (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Theoretically couldn't someone move object him out of the cockpit?)) (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Good decision on increasing the shields for us.)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: That's evil. You probably could, but as weak as he is, it'd be just as easy to let him lunch on laser. (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Yeah I know it's evil, but it would be funny.)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: ((Yes, yes it would be. :) )) (1212) Niari: (Evil? He gets to live this way... Provided his suit is capable of withstanding space...) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: He's in an asteroid field. (1055) Morco Jocra: ((It probly can, but not for long.)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Anyway... (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Jen's wasted a turn, and it's the interceptors' turn again. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Niehter of them looks very sanguine about these events' turns, but they don't fancy retreating, either. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: They're going to each try to join dogfight with the ship in front of them. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Pilot check (Oppose it!) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: [1d20+6-2] => [1,6,-2] = (5) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: And he's got no power to his guns. (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Who is needing to roll for dogfight?)) (1055) Morco Jocra: (Sheesh, after this battle I'm heading out and getting some sleep unless this mountain dew does its job and wakes me up.)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: ((Sorry)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Ferrago, you're up. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: You want to eliminate an interceptor, or leave that to those crazy kids in the Reek and move on to attack the Gun Tugs? (1119) Ferrago: I'll finish off that Interceptor I attacked... (1039) ShadowDragon8685: All right. (1119) Ferrago: Seeing as his last attack practically bounced off the TIE's shields, Ferrago fires again. (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Come on get the third 20 for our side.)) (1119) Ferrago: [1d20+10] => [14,10] = (24) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Which is a trick, since they have no shields whatsoever... (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Hit! (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Niari, Morco, you're up. (1212) Niari: : Muttering cryptically under her breath, Niari continues to focus on the wounded Interceptor on her starboard side to the inclusion of everything else. The pilot of the enemy ship was stubborn, in its refusal to go down. Her hands flashed dextrously across the controls as she shunted power off from some non-essential functions to regain strength for her guns. She was not going to let a little thing like lack of power prevent her from taking down the last Interceptor. The interior lighting of the gunnery of the Reek flicked off, leaving Niari in a near-total darkness that was lit only by laser fire and her flashing console. She scanned the readout on the console again, checking Kya's feed against her own - and made a minor correction to her aim. "Gonna get you this time..." Attempting to assign the role of PLAYER to (1263) Ferrago... ** (1055) Morco Jocra takes a few seconds to get over seeing a open cockpit on a starfighter with the pilot still ready to go. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: You don't get flanking unless you're adjacent. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: And on opposite sides. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: But Ferrago could move in to flank, sure... (1263) Ferrago: "Hold on, I'll finish that one!" (1263) Ferrago: Ferrago fires at the damaged gun tug. (1263) Ferrago: (What's the advantage of flanking, again?) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: +2 bonus. (1263) Ferrago: [1d20+12] => [16,12] = (28) (1263) Ferrago: [6d10+3] => [5,4,10,1,2,2,3] = (27) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Hit. And... (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Wait, 6? (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Re-roll that. (1263) Ferrago: Yeah? (1263) Ferrago: Is it not 6? (1039) ShadowDragon8685: 7d10. (1263) Ferrago: Huh. Wiki page says 6d10, but cool. (1055) Morco Jocra: ((The write-up says 6d10.)) (1263) Ferrago: (no shhhhh) (1263) Ferrago: (shhhhhhh) (1263) Ferrago: [7d10+3] => [6,6,4,3,3,3,9,3] = (37) (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Hey you said it to..wait a second we said nothing.)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: "">No, it's 7d10 (1039) ShadowDragon8685: You must have copied wrong to your sheet (1263) Ferrago: (I didn't copy that.) (1212) Niari: (Ferrago's on the Phoenix....) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Also, Ferrago? Let me show you. (1263) Ferrago: (I thought you did.) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: [(7d10+3)*2] => 104 (1039) ShadowDragon8685: ... Grah. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Just... (1039) ShadowDragon8685: ... (1039) ShadowDragon8685: My mind if all frazzled. (1055) Morco Jocra: ((The Reek has a 7d10, but the Phoenix is 6d10...I'll stay out of the debate now.)) (1263) Ferrago: Yeah, but I use the thing at the bottom because I'm lazy and I can double things easily in my head. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Regardless, your original roll was 27. [27*2] => 54 (1263) Ferrago: 27 times 2 is 54. (1263) Ferrago: Yeah. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: [39-34] => 5 (1039) ShadowDragon8685: [29-34] => -5 (1039) ShadowDragon8685: So, you end the gun-tug. (1051) Jen Vadur: Disconnecting from server... (1051) Jen Vadur (exit): 23:45 (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Jen's timed out... (1039) ShadowDragon8685: No, her AIM has gone. (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Sweet only 1 of the buggers left then the big ship and laser turrets on the platform.)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: ... Fucka. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: The crew of the gun tug have apparently decided they're goners no matter what they do. (1263) Ferrago: "These aren't so tough." Ferrago speaks into the comms. "Hey Cap'n, what's with the mooks? I thought you were gonna make us sorry." (1039) ShadowDragon8685: The gunner fires the blaster cannon at the Phoenix, and the pilot tries to ram. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Attack roll: [1d20+1] => [10,1] = (11) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: He can't touch that, so the pilot tries: [1d20+1] => [4,1] = (5) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: And the lurching bitch can't even successfully ram a light freighter! (1039) ShadowDragon8685: The gun platforms open fire on the Phoenix Sunrise: [1d20+5-10] => [7,5,-10] = (2) [1d20+5-10] => [8,5,-10] = (3) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: And fail utterly. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: This is an official cake-walk. (1055) Morco Jocra: "Niari, would you like me to get you closer to the ship or do you want to fire from here?" (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Combat's ending. (1212) Niari: "Get closer, wouldn't hurt." (1039) ShadowDragon8685: This gun tug is a weak-sauce fucking mook. (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Combat's ending?)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: There's no fight left, just rolling. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: There is nothing that could change the outcome of this left, even if they all get 20s next round. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Let's move on to something more interesting - you guys have a pirate lord to fight. (1212) Niari: (Ahh...) (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Even the bigger ship...ok?)) (1212) Niari: (The bigger ship can't attack because of the shield generator...) (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Space battle or what?)) (1212) Niari: (At least, thats how I understand it.) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: The Gun tug goes down like a bitch, and Jen moves in on the platform with her large stock of proton torpedoes, to bomb the living shit out of the guns and anything that looks like it might be taking a fight. The immobile Consular-class cruiser (refitted as a pirate carrier) is now empty, it cannot fire outside of it's shields, it cannot move. It would take it ten turns to bring it's hyperdrive and shields online, which is longer than Jin-Ol is willing to risk being exposed to your proton torpedos. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: So instead, he just tells you that you may have killed his crew, but you're never getting back the Fortress Shield. He's going to sit here until you go away. (1263) Ferrago: But we can get inside it, right? (1039) ShadowDragon8685: What he doesn't understand is that you guys can fly through the shield - his ship's guns aren't even manned as you fly through the shields and through the open magcon shields into his hangar. (1263) Ferrago: Thanks to the Alderaanians. (1212) Niari: "You could surrender," Niari offers in mock-helpfulness. (1263) Ferrago: "No, he couldn't." (1055) Morco Jocra: "Well if your just going to sit there, you might as well surrender and turn yourself over to the mercy of the jedi order." (1039) ShadowDragon8685: "I'sa think I'sa keep my ship and your shields, thank yas very much," he taunts... At least, until you start to fly through the Fortress Shield and board his vessel. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: The Alderaanians tell you about a hidden hatch into a crawlspace that they had to get into in the ceiling of the hangar bay that will let you make your way to the spine of the vessel. Nico and the Alderaanians will sweep the lower decks and take out the bulk of the crew, whilst they suggest you head to the spine deck to kill Jin-Ol. (1263) Ferrago: "My pleasure." (1263) Ferrago: Ferrago pops his knuckles. (1212) Niari: "We did offer surrender," Niari radios to Jin-Ol one more time before she disembarks from the Reek, heading for the hatch the Alderaanians mentioned. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: The hatch is in the ceiling - convientantly enough, the Phoenix Sunrise is landed right under, and you can get to it by climbing up the ship. As you three get into the crawlspace, you hear autoblaster fire from below, sounds like a pitched battle has begun. (1055) Morco Jocra: "It's not the jedi way to kill if it can be helped. Regardless of what Jin-Ol has done if he surrenders we need to show him compassion and mercy. We can always hand him over to the proper authorities or let Master Skywalker deal with him." (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Booting '(1119) Ferrago' from room... (1119) Ferrago (exit): 00:00 (1212) Niari: "Let's hurry," she frowns as she begins to make her way through the hatch, "The faster we deal with Jin-Ol, the faster the rest of the pirates give up - the better off the Alderaanians will be..." (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Don't you guys see a new map? (1263) Ferrago: "Authorities?" (1263) Ferrago: "What authorities? Republic authorities?" (1212) Niari: (Yep.) (1263) Ferrago: (I see it now.) ** (1055) Morco Jocra climbs out of the Reek and spends a few seconds before moving to get to the hatch spoken of earlier. "Republic authorities would be one option, but I was thinking more along the lines of handing him over to the Alderaanians and letting them deal with him how they saw fit." ** (1263) Ferrago: "I could go with that." (1263) Ferrago: "Didn't he take some of them? Twins." (1039) ShadowDragon8685: This old ship is cramped and tight. You emerge on the lower spine deck,in an otherwise empty closet, here. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: These decks are right on top of one another. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Those are the stairs up. (1055) Morco Jocra: ((That the right area?)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: No, there. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: But you can start where you like in here. (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Eh close enough.)) (1212) Niari: (Fine with that.) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Ferrago? (1055) Morco Jocra: ((As am I.)) (1263) Ferrago: (Sure.) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Where's your mini? (1263) Ferrago: (uh...) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Just want a marker? (1039) ShadowDragon8685: All righty. And Niari... Went AFK. (1055) Morco Jocra: ((I'm still here though.)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Yeah. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Normally I'd have called this game when Jen vanished, but as this is likely to be Morco's last game with us, I'd like to have him at least see the end of this ard. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Arc. (1055) Morco Jocra: ((I appreciate it, but if everyone seems to be leaving I understand ending the game.)) (1212) Niari: (Back, sorry.) (1263) Ferrago: (:C) (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Yeah we can finish this arc.)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: All right, now, I will say this... (1039) ShadowDragon8685: This guy is a bear. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: I didn't hold back when I designed him, which is impressive since I put him together in 45-minutes. (1055) Morco Jocra: ((I thought he was a Gungan, LOL.)) (1263) Ferrago: (I wouldn't wrestle the winner of the Big Nasty Free-For-All) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: He has more HP than those TIE fighters you fought. (1263) Ferrago: (Ooh.) (1212) Niari: (Neat.) (1263) Ferrago: (This might actually be fun) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: He's a level 7 Soldier, so, take him seriously, even if he does speak like a Gungan Pirate... (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Because he is a gungan pirate. (1212) Niari: (Good thing we have three Jedi, then...) (1055) Morco Jocra: ((I would hope so, at least I have 2 DP's to spend if need be.)) (1263) Ferrago: (Thiiiiis is going to be fun) (1212) Niari: "Right," Niari nods to the others. "Let's go." (1263) Ferrago: "I hope he puts up more of a fight than his mooks did." (1039) ShadowDragon8685: You hear tremendously heavy foot-falls stomping on the deck above you, an armored figure at a run, in a hurry to join the battle raging below in his mid decks. (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Do we know that the stairs are where you mentioned?)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Yes, you have a good idea. (1263) Ferrago: "Keepuna. What, is he keeping a rancor up there?!" (1212) Niari: Niari looks up, somewhat startled, "I... hope that was a joke." ** (1055) Morco Jocra moves around Niari and Ferrago and past the stairs positioning himself in a position to intercept whoever is up there. "Let's go find out shall we?" ** (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Ahh, rancor, the traditional enemy of the Twi'lek. (1212) Niari: (:D) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: You hear the tremendous footfalls on the stairs, and they stop to unlock them. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Are you all in the positions you wish to be in? (1263) Ferrago: (Hiding behind Niari... yup.) (1263) Ferrago: (AW DAMMIT) (1055) Morco Jocra: ((No, would we have time to be where we want to be?)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: You have time to get anywhere in that first area. (1263) Ferrago: (Oh wait, yes, I am) (1263) Ferrago: (That's where he is...) (1212) Niari: Niari automatically shifts into a defensive stance, not too sure about taking on whoever or whatever this is in such cramped quarters... (1055) Morco Jocra: ((That way I'm in no one's way and if someone wanted to they could come up and get flanking with me.)) (1263) Ferrago: "Wait... could that be..." (1212) Niari: (Fighting defensively, just FYI...) (1055) Morco Jocra: "Could that be wahat?" (1039) ShadowDragon8685: The door opens... And you meet a Gungan. You meet the Gungan from hell. Jin-Ol Ashim is tall, even for his species, long and lanky, but he's wearing motherfucking powered armor. His gauntleted hands are free, the power armor incorporating a pair of wicked, forward-curved claws from his forearm bracers, and carrying blaster emitters under the knife-edges of his hands. The armor is painted bright red, with broad curved pauldrons. The armor's edged in gold, and his shoulder spaulders each carry the symbol of his pirate reign, that of the Burning Claw crushing a humanoid skull, in embossed, raised golden design. He sees you laying for him, and smiles, the big scar running down the top of his head giving him a perfectly savage appearance. "So, yousa come ta me! Saves me the trouble!" (1263) Ferrago: "No, no, it couldn't be..." (1039) ShadowDragon8685: With a loud, crackling hiss of power, his electroclaws come to life, crackling with blue energy. Roll for Initiative. (1263) Ferrago: "...Oh." (1263) Ferrago: "Thaaat's a BIG gungan..." (1212) Niari: Initiative: [1d20+12] => [15,12] = (27) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Jin Ol: [1d20+12] => [5,12] = (17) (1055) Morco Jocra: Initiative [1d20+10] => [4,10] = (14) (1263) Ferrago: [1d20+11] => [14,11] = (25) (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Woot, back to piss poor rolls for me.)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Order of Battle: Initiative: Niari: 27 Ferrago: 25 Jin-Ol Ashim: 17 Morco: 14 (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Niari, you are up first. (1212) Niari: : Niari winces slightly, not in the least bit interested in even being nicked with those blades. Her stance shifts subtly - a defensive posture with her orange lightsaber held at a slightly diagonal angle. Knowing that she is probably going to be taking the brunt of the attacks once she gets going - she takes a quick breath, steadying herself and focusing her mind outward to shrug off pain. (Activating DR 10 - 1 minute.) (1212) Niari: (Cost of 1 FP.) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: You earned a Stunt 1. (1212) Niari: (Excellent, no cost then!) (1212) Niari: (That's my standard action - she's not going to move from her spot for now.) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Right. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Ferrago? (1039) ShadowDragon8685: You probably shouldn't have wasted your opportunity to catch him while he's flat-footed. (1263) Ferrago: I would lean around the corner and pop off a grenade if it wouldn't hit Morco, but it would... (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Flat-footed, his Ref is bad enough. Once he starts moving, it becomes insane. (1263) Ferrago: Hmm... (1263) Ferrago: One sec, lemme consider my options. (1212) Niari: (With the way I've been rolling tonight - I decided to press my luck, to be honest. Though I know I'm just asking the dice gods to smack me down for my insolence.) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Bank shot? (1263) Ferrago: Alright, bank shot. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: You can hit the corner to Jin-Ol's lower-left without hitting Morco or Niari. (1263) Ferrago: Ferrago leans around the corner. No way in hell is he going out in the open with that apparent gungan-rancor hybrid. "Morco, Niari, get clear!" he shouts, grabbing a firm hold of his rifle and popping out a grenade, trying to land it in a spot where it won't hurt either of his companions. (1263) Ferrago: (I don't guess I have any frags.) (1263) Ferrago: [1d20+8] => [2,8] = (10) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Then Stun might be your best bet. (1263) Ferrago: (Oh dear.) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Nah, that's enough (barely) to get it in the right spot. (1263) Ferrago: (This is like the 80th 2 I've rolled tonight.) (1263) Ferrago: (It's a stun grenade, yeah?) (1263) Ferrago: (If I have a frag, I fired that.) (1263) Ferrago: [4d6+3] => [4,4,6,6,3] = (23) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Where did you get a frag?... (1039) ShadowDragon8685: well, not implausable you could have picked one up on the pirate base. Anyway, half of 23 is 12. (1263) Ferrago: (I seem to recall there being a crime lord a while back that we picked one up from, but I don't remember using it..) (1263) Ferrago: (Alright.) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Oh right! That guy. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Jin-Ol holds up his forearm as the fragmentation grenade goes off, pressing to the side of the wall. "You'll have to do better than that! My turn!" (1039) ShadowDragon8685: He steps out into the corridor, and grabs for Morco. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Morco, this is an opposed check. Roll 1d20 + your BAB + your STR or DEX, whichever is higher. (1055) Morco Jocra: [1d20+8] => [10,8] = (18) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Jin-Ol: [1d20+13] => [20,13] = (33) (1263) Ferrago: (Oh dear) (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Well at least I got double digits on the die...of course.)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: You're lucky, actually. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: It's a grapple check, not an attack roll. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: So he doesn't do any worse than he normally does... Which is considerable. (1263) Ferrago: (Ha. Hahaha. Ha.) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: You take [2d12+6] => [2,2,6] = (10) damage as the Gungan pirate fearlessly reaches past your ignited lightsaber, grabbing you by the shoulder and pushing you against the doorframe, pinning your lightsaber arm and attempting very much to gut you. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: You get no action. Being pinned, you can take no actions, nor may you move, and you're denied your Reflex Bonus to AC. (1263) Ferrago: (That damage roll could've been a lot worse) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: ((Yes, it could have been. That's a damage roll consistant with having a vibroaxe.)) (1263) Ferrago: (Yeah) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: ((He's totally cheesing out the fact that his bracers effectively give him natural claws to abuse the hell out of his Martial Arts I, II, and III feats.)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: And did I mention his Reflex Defense is now thirty? (1263) Ferrago: (Well, I killed an actual guy with a vibroaxe) (1263) Ferrago: (And that was fun) (1263) Ferrago: (Wait what) (1263) Ferrago: (No, not until just now) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: It is. Have fun. ^_^ (1212) Niari: (O.O) (1263) Ferrago: (Time to bust out the Force powers) (1212) Niari: (No kidding.) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: I told you he was cheesing the hell out of those MA feats, didn't I? (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Yeah, good idea. Trying to take this guy on in melee is suicidal. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: He didn't win the Big Nasty Free-For-All because everyone else rolled low. (1212) Niari: (...I knew I should have gone with Force Training instead of dual weapons...) (1263) Ferrago: (I knew I should've taken something other than Force Disarm) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: ((In case you're wondering, he's wearing +7 armor, with half of his +7 class defense bonus, rounded down - that's 10. He retains his full Dexterity bonus of +4, his Martial Arts feats give him +3 Reflex Defense, his Lightning Reflexes racial gives him +2, and his Soldier Defense Bonus is +1)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: And his weapons can't be disarmed. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Although they could be crushed if you fueled it with an FP.. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: But he has two, one on each arm. (1263) Ferrago: (I know they can't be disarmed) (1263) Ferrago: (That was the first thing I noticed) (1212) Niari: (I vote you do that while Niari attempts to do the stabby-thing with her blade anyways.) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Speaking of which... (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Niari, it's your turn (1212) Niari: (Alright. Questions. 1. Do I get flanking bonuses? 2. Do I suffer any penalties to attack because Jin-Ol is grappling Morco?) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Yes, you get flanking bonuses. No, no penalties. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Also, it's worth pointing out that he has a Dark Side Score of 6. (1212) Niari: (Can I spend more than 1 FP a round?) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: If you earn a stunt, you can spend the freebie and an extra (1212) Niari: : "Alright then," the Lethan Twi'lek narrows her eyes. With her free arm she grabs hold of her lekku and wraps them around her neck and out of the way. "Let's see how good you are." She licks her lips as she focuses her thoughts outward - letting the Force roll over her body and up her arms into her blade, which grows from a dull orange hue to an almost blindingly bright. (Battle Strike; UtF check + Force Point: [1d20+1d6+11] => [1,1,11] = (13)) Without another word, the agile Twi'lek dashes forward on the balls of her feet - using the added momentum to drive the blade towards Jin-Ol's exposed shoulder from behind, angling the blade away from the stuggling Morco. Even as she completes the lunge, she draws the blade back and falls into a semi-crouch to ensure Ferrago has a good enough shot with Lucretia. [1d20+10+2] => [3,10,2] = (15) (An additional +1 if UtF is over 15) (1212) Niari: (Holy crap, UtF check.) (1212) Niari: (I spit on you, dice gods.) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: The Gungan agilly pivots, and I'll bet you didn't expect this - when he meets your lightsaber blade with the back of his electroclaws, the field around them surges into brilliance, holding your blade away from making contact. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: The bare tips of those claws are stained with Morco's blood, but Morco looks considerably the worse for the wear. (1212) Niari: Inwardly Niari was incredibly shocked that Jin-Ol managed to parry the blade, but she chose not to show it outwardly, whipping her lightsaber around and into a defensive position. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Ferrago? (1263) Ferrago: Yeah, sorry. (1212) Niari: "Huh," Niari sniffs as she finally sees Jin-Ol Ashim face-to-face, "You're ugly, even for a Gungan." (1039) ShadowDragon8685: "So saysa a woman with a hide like a Laigrek's eye and squirmly worms where she should have ears?" (1212) Niari: She cocks her head to the side, "I feel that insult would have been much more offensive if I knew what a Laigrek was." (1263) Ferrago: (one moment please) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: "Maybe I'll feed ya to one!" (1263) Ferrago: (sorry, had something to deal with) (1263) Ferrago: Ferrago holsters Lucrecia and steps out from behind his corner. "You thought you would just take the shield for your fleet, right? Just rob us and get away, like any common trader. Or maybe you expected to take advantage of the famous Jedi mercy." Ferrago lifts his hand up. He begins searching Jin-Ol's body with his mind, through the layers of armor, through the skin, feeling the flow of his life force. "There are younglings back at the temple who could be in danger without that shield you stole. We can't rely on the Republic anymore, so we have to deal with threats like you ourselves." He telekinetically feels his way to Jin-Ol's monstrous lung, perhaps tickling an intense or two on his way there. He smiles. "I was willing to negotiate with you earlier. But not anymore. Now, I want nothing but to make an example of you." (1263) Ferrago: *intestine (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Ooooh, nice. Stunt 3. (1263) Ferrago: He squeezes his hand into a fist. (1212) Niari: (Damn, dude. Nice!) (1263) Ferrago: [8d6] => [1,2,4,2,1,3,4,6] = (23) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Jin-Ol lets out a grk, and a gag, a gasp for air, letting go of Morco as Ferrago squeezes him. (1276) moris (enter): 01:04 (1039) ShadowDragon8685: He can't take any useful actions. Morco, Jin-Ol released you, you may act now. (1276) moris (exit): 01:05 (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Hmm even though he's being force driped can I still affect him with either force slam or move object?)) (1055) Morco Jocra: ((griped not driped)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: You can Slam him easily. You could Move him, too, but if you move him too far you could break Ferrago's Grip. (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Alright I'l just move object him into the ceiling if I suceed at the roll that is.)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Go for it ** (1055) Morco Jocra takes a breath and closes his eyes getting over the crushing grip that Jin-Ol had on him. After he was certain that nothing was damaged to badly he opened his eyes and felt anger rising in him. He lifted his empty hand at Jin-Ol letting the force guide him, he took a quick breath and lifted his hand sending Jin-Ol flying straight up into the cieling and then lowered his hand to grab his lightsaber in a stance ready to attack if need be. ** (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Oooh. Stunt 2, and DSS increase. (1055) Morco Jocra: Use the Force check to activate Move Object [1d20+15] => [11,15] = (26) Force Point to increase roll [1d6] => [5] = (5) (1212) Niari: Damn, guys.) (1055) Morco Jocra: ((I'll also use the extra FP to increase the damage.)) (1212) Niari: (*mental note to learn some TK powers*) (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Which should make it 10d6 potentially.)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: That roll could have moved the ship. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: That much might well punch him through the hull. (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Well luckily you can be very specific with the force...however if it would punch him through the wall I'll pull back as to not potentially kill us.)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: It probably won't... (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Although with that use of the force I feel alot like Vader's Apprentice.)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: I mean, that's armored, exterior hull. (1055) Morco Jocra: ((So the 10d6 or what?)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Yeah, go ahead. (1055) Morco Jocra: Damage Roll [10d6] => [4,4,6,3,3,4,3,6,2,1] = (36) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Order of Battle: Initiative: Niari: 27 (DR 10 - 9 rounds) Ferrago: 25 Jin-Ol Ashim: 17 [81-12-23-36] => 10; -2 step Morco: 14 (1278) Joe (enter): 01:18 (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Yeah Niari, you might want to take a couple of TK based powers...they can be really nasty really easilly.)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: He lets out an "Awghk!" sound as you ram him up into the ceiling. He doesn't really stand much of a chance of penetrating the hull, but that wasn't very far off from a hit that might have. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Anyway, Niari, it's your turn (1212) Niari: : Realizing that brute strength wasn't going to be enough to take down Jin-Ol, Niari shifted tactics to her familiar style - one that incorporated her natural dancer's grace. She moved fluidly, darting at first to her left - to throw Jin-Ol off and then spinning back around to her right, somehow managing to squeeze through the space between the struggling Jin-Ol and the stairs. (Tumble DC 15: [1d20+12] => [4,12] = (16)) As her feet alighted on the steps, Niari spun again, the higher ground hers as she brought her blade down vertically onto the Gungan pirate's face. Attack: [1d20+15] => [6,15] = (21) (1263) Ferrago: (Aww, Niari's probably gonna finish him and I won't get to use my pretyped move.) (1212) Niari: (Dammit.) (1212) Niari: (Guess you get to finish him. :P) (1055) Morco Jocra: ((I think you used your good dice rolls during the starship battle.)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: How odd is it that he retains his Dexterity bonus and all whilst being Gripped? Oh well. (1263) Ferrago: Like an akk dog clamping its jaws onto its prey, Ferrago stubbornly refuses to release his telekinetic grip on Jin-Ol, even as Morco flings him around like a ragdoll. If anything, he squeezes more tightly. His arm is so tense now that it's beginning to hurt, but he ignores it. The last time he felt anything like this was when he ended the life of that crazed murder, back when he and Nico saved Niari and got the Phoenix. Nico warned him of the dark side... is that what this is? Could that be the power he feels flowing through him? Like an athlete running to his limits, then suddenly running a mile or two farther after feeling the ecstasy of an endorphin rush, Ferrago is pushing beyond what he knew he could, beyond what he'd ever been taught in the temple, and dark side or not, it feels good. He squeezes his fist a little tighter, and focuses on that thought. He can meditate on it later. Right now, he's in the heat of battle. (1263) Ferrago: So he squeezes. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: It's about all that Jin-Ol can do to bring his claws up to block Niari's lightsaber strike. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: o.0 (1039) ShadowDragon8685: DSS increase, but Stunt 3. (1263) Ferrago: [1d20+14] => [4,14] = (18) (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Wow 2 DSS's in one game...I'm impressed.)) (1263) Ferrago: [1d6] => [5] = (5) (1212) Niari: (Mental note, don't piss Ferrago off.) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: ((Mental note: nerf Grip)) (1263) Ferrago: [6d6] => [1,6,1,4,4,1] = (17) whispering to Niari, Also, you should get Rebuke. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Jin-Ol Ashim collapses to the deck, limp like a rag-doll. (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Or is he dead?)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: No, he's unconcious. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: This tough hard-ass motherfucker's Threshold was too high for that to have killed him. (1212) Niari: : Niari stares, slack-jawed, her lightsaber dangling uselessly from her hand. "Wow," she finally manages as Jin-Ol's mangled corpse falls with a thud in front of her. "Wow," she repeats again, almost in a state of shock. She takes a step back, turning her head from left-to-right to look at Ferrago and then Morco. "I... just..." She shakes her head to clear out some of the fuzziness that clouded her thoughts. Did she seriously just witness that? "Wow," she says again with some finality, looking at Ferrago and Morco with a deep sense of admiration. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: You'd have to administer the coup de grace deliberately if you want to kill him, and that's another DSS. ** (1055) Morco Jocra stands over the gungan with his blade ignited. The temptation to finish him off building, he raises the lightsaber ready to kill him. "We should kill him, he is to dangerous to be left alive." ** (1263) Ferrago: Ferrago's body aches a little as he releases the grip, and releases his intense focus on it. He didn't realize how tense he was. His heart is still racing from the experience. (1279) Joe (enter): 01:26 (1263) Ferrago: "Wait. Don't dirty yourself with the deed. I can do it." (1212) Niari: "No," Niari shakes her head at Morco. "No one is ever that dangerous..." (1039) ShadowDragon8685: As you look down, the stairs, past Jin-Ol, you see a pecular sight: the rest of the pirate crew is in full rout, running from blaster bolts flying their way. One of them gets a very uplifting experiance - right into the ceiling, Nico doing the exact same thing that Morco just did, but Nico doesn't seem to have his lightsaber - oh, there it is. Kya seems to have relieved him of it, spinning through a tight hallway and rolling forward, as T3-TT keeps her back, double-firing with his blaster pistol at some screeching animal you can't see. (1212) Niari: "Don't," Niari frowns at Ferrago, the admiration she felt for the two suddenly replaced with a sense of sadness. This wasn't how a Jedi was supposed to act, was it? (1263) Ferrago: "Then what do we do with him?" (1039) ShadowDragon8685: It's a pirate ship. Chances are there's binder cuffs somewhere. (1212) Niari: "We remove his weapons and bind him - and turn him over to the Alderaanians." ** (1055) Morco Jocra turns his sight on the apparent battle going on else where, and lowers his blade. "If we don't find anything to hold him I will finish him off." ** (1263) Ferrago: Ferrago ponders this, then closes his eyes briefly and takes a deep breath. "Alright. Remove his weapons and armor. We'll let them decide his fate." (1212) Niari: Niari nods, giving Ferrago a comforting squeeze on the arm before bending down to get rid of the Gungan's weapons. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: To be rid of them, you'd have to actually remove him from his armor, but this battle is over. The ship was on a skeleton crew, and with the boss apparently dead, the remaining pirates don't stand a chance, going down quickly, a few of the remaining ones surrendering. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Man, he went down like a chump, didn't he? (1039) ShadowDragon8685: I thought this guy was pretty fucking dangerous. (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Yeah, but a big part of that is our use of the force.)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Yep... (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Note to self: all bad guy force users get Skill Focus (UtF) and Rebuke (1263) Ferrago: (You've overpowered us just a little, I think.) (1212) Niari: (:D) (1263) Ferrago: (Haha, now THAT sounds like fun.) (1055) Morco Jocra: ((There might be that as well.)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: While that's true, the fact is that you could easily have pulled that out on him with or without the boosts I gave you. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Grip is widely regarded as overpowering, and that's probably why. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: At least you guys treat Grip as a weapon of last resort instead of a weapon of first resort. (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Probly, it doesn't help any that force users are overpowered when compared to others most everytime they will win.)) (1212) Niari: (Im really surprised Grip is not a Dark Side power.) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: It used to be, in the old edition. (1055) Morco Jocra: ((IT was, before saga edition.)) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Though as Ferrago proved, it's not as if it not being explicitly DS doesn't make it easy to get a DSS increase with it anyway. (1263) Ferrago: Yeah, I remember that. (1212) Niari: Ja. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Anyway, I suppose you'll all be wanting your XP? (1280) Karesh (enter): 01:36 (1280) Karesh: Disconnecting from server... (1280) Karesh (exit): 01:37 (1055) Morco Jocra: ((Yeah end the session please, as I would like to hit the sack.)) (1263) Ferrago: I didn't go into this with the idea that I'd be racking up DSP, but I seem to be going that way, don't I? (1263) Ferrago: Ugh, me too. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: By the way, I've come to a realization. Part of the reason you're rocketing up in levels so fast is because starships have such a high CL. (1263) Ferrago: Ahhhhh. (1263) Ferrago: That makes sense. (1055) Morco Jocra: Um I would like to say once again that it has been fun playing in the game thus far, and look forward to re-joining later if life allows it. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: It's been fun having you, Morco. (1212) Niari: Same to you, Morco. It's been a fun couple of weeks gaming with you. (1263) Ferrago: It was fun having you, Morco, and I'm sad to see you go. (1263) Ferrago: I'll be the only one left from the beginning. (1263) Ferrago: :'C (1039) ShadowDragon8685: :( (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Hrm.... (1039) ShadowDragon8685: I know there was some rule about that... (1212) Niari: I think starship CLs are higher because, well, its really not expected for the players to get their own ship until 7th or 8th level... (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Actually, it's because starships are just frigging dangerous, what with all the laser cannons and all. (1263) Ferrago: And we have pretty awesome ships. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Yeah, you guys do have pretty good ships. The Phoenix, especially - though it's not playing to full potential with Nico absent. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Still, they're not that awesome. I've been throwing you up against TIE interceptors. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Anyway, let's see... (1039) ShadowDragon8685: 2x TIE interceptors, 2x TIE Fighters, and 2x Gun Tugs. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Gun tug is crap, I'll call it CL 5. The TIE/Lns are CL 7s, and the TIE Interceptors are CL 8s. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: [2000+(1400*2)+(1600*2)] => 8000 (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Jen, as much as I hate to say it, contributed absolutely bubkis to that fight. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: So, that's a 3-way split of 8K. (1055) Morco Jocra: 2,666.6666666666666 (1279) Joe: Disconnecting from server... (1279) Joe (exit): 01:46 (1039) ShadowDragon8685: With Jin-Ol Ashim in there, that makes 3,133 XP. (1212) Niari: [15074+3133] => 18207 (1212) Niari: Less than 3k away. (1212) Niari: From finally building a lightsaber... (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Yep. (1212) Niari: I'll have to bug Jaden for another one. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Anyway, I imagine you guys are keen to know what kind of cargo you've won with this ship, right? (1263) Ferrago: Less than 1.5k for me. (1212) Niari: Yes we are. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: All right, let me - Sweet mother of moly! (1055) Morco Jocra: Well since I'm dropping from the game I'll take this time to say bye and c-ya later. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: ... You know what? I'll let it stand. (1212) Niari: Farewell, Morco. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Good-bye, Morco. (1263) Ferrago: Bye, Morco! (1039) ShadowDragon8685: You were a great pleasure to have. (1055) Morco Jocra: Disconnecting from server... (1055) Morco Jocra (exit): 01:50 (1263) Ferrago: You will be greatly missed. (1263) Ferrago: Aww, just missed him. (1263) Ferrago: What is this mother of moly? (1039) ShadowDragon8685: 150 Tons, Space Superiority Starfighter. (1263) Ferrago: I (1263) Ferrago: what (1212) Niari: O.O (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Thank the hell out of Gary Sarli. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: It was his generator, and I'll let it stand. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: i guess they got it in a cargo box and never got a chance to open it. (1212) Niari: :D (1263) Ferrago: Just what we needed, another fighter. We've practically got our own fleet. (1212) Niari: Uh, so. *shifty eyes* Since Morco is now gone, I guess the two ships we'll be using are the Phoenix and this new one... (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Anyway, you got: Foodstuffs: Quality Sauces/Spices/Sweeteners, 30 tons, sealed in crates Common baked goods, 16 tons, stacked on palettes. Common bulk grains, 28 tons, sealed in crates. Luxury Goods: Semiprecious gems, Qty 160, 1 ton, locked in armored case Empty Containers: 28 tons. Boxes. Good for hiding within. Ores: 12 tons, semicommon ore, loaded in crates. Electronics: Fusion lanterns, Qty 400, 4 tons Starship: Superiority Starfighter, Qty 1, 50 tons, loaded on palette (1263) Ferrago: We need to recruit... (1263) Ferrago: Again. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Well, Niari, you could keep the Reek. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: It can be modified for only one person. (1212) Niari: Its a two person ship... (1039) ShadowDragon8685: But, at this moment, I need to dash and make a bio, BRB. (1212) Niari: Well, in that case she'll keep it. (1212) Niari: I wonder where Nico is. (1263) Ferrago: Would our new fighter be this thing? (1263) Ferrago: I don't know, I hope he's alright. (1212) Niari: Ditto. (1263) Ferrago: Don't know where Jen went, either. (1212) Niari: I feel Jen passed out, it's like 5am in South Africa right now or something. (1212) Niari: At least, thats what I hope happened. (1263) Ferrago: Makes sense. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Mmmmh. That is... Annoying. (1278) Joe (exit): 01:56 (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Players who keep passing out. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Remember the one we had in the netherlands? (1263) Ferrago: Draco? (1263) Ferrago: Er, Dracen. (1263) Ferrago: Yes. (1263) Ferrago: He left early on. (1263) Ferrago: I think I passed out once too, sorry about that. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Yeah, s'okay. Sometimes it happens. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Anyway... (1039) ShadowDragon8685: I need to figure out what that starfighter you guys got it. It could be something "main canon," it could be something to the sidelines like one of the Neutral ships from SWG or a Star Viper or something. I dunno yet. (1263) Ferrago: FYI, Space Superiority Fighter is statted out in the Force Unleashed book... (1212) Niari: Hmm. How much hard credits do we have to spend to modify our ships? I feel like the Reek could use a couple of upgrades - especially if Niari and Diver are going to be the only two flying it. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Ferrago, that's a general term, not a specific one. (1212) Niari: I imagine there is a bit of downtime for us to play with now that the chapter is over? (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Well, as far as raw credits, not that much. In addition to any petty cash you've been duely noting, you can loot 5,000 from the Khar Ashim's space chest, and you can pawn that G-Cred for another 7,500. (1263) Ferrago: Then why is there a specific ship that is called that? But alright. (1212) Niari: Hmm. I'll keep that in mind. (1263) Ferrago: I need to add up exactly how much money, FP, and DP I have... (1212) Niari: Well, even the "stunt" FP is reset everytime you level, right? (1263) Ferrago: I think so? (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Yes, it is. (1212) Niari: So it's just FP you gained from this session... 'cause otherwise I'll need to add up FP too. (1212) Niari: Whew. (1263) Ferrago: Also, increase Dark Side Score by 1... (1263) Ferrago: Ahh, mmkay then. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: You might want to spend FP to meditate that down during the downtime. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: As far as the ship you guys got... Well, I think it's horribly ironic. Most players, if you asked them their problems, would say too few ships. (1263) Ferrago: I spent 1 DP when I docked with a spinning ship a while back... (1263) Ferrago: And gained 2 tonight. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: I think it's utterly hilarious to give you more than you can crew. :P (1212) Niari: :D (1212) Niari: We've got, what? Five now? (1212) Niari: We need to purchase a droid army. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Speaking of which, the Naboo are going to be grateful for returning the refugees, and since they have no particular use for old Jedi starfighters that were hidden from the Empire for a long, long time... (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Suffice to say that there shouldn't be any wanting for variety of starfighters. :) (1212) Niari: :D (1263) Ferrago: We could take those droids from Jin-Ol's station and reprogram them to be pilots. (1263) Ferrago: Just a few. (1263) Ferrago: Pilots or gunners. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: They are pilot models, but the problem is that they're all remote processor models. (1212) Niari: Yes, that's right. We have a SPACE STATION. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Of course, you're assuming that the Jedi Order isn't putting the fighters you're not using to good use. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Technically, you have two, even though this one is more like a gas station. (1263) Ferrago: We haven't even visited our hideout on Naboo yet. (1263) Ferrago: We are swimming in fifty kinds of loot I swear (1283) No Name (enter): 02:07 (1212) Niari: :D (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Speaking of which, you've handily defeated the Jedi Order's fuel crunch. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: With two space stations stepping up gas and refining it into starship fuel, you're fine. (1212) Niari: And singlehandedly acquired enough materials and ore to repair the temple, not to mention gems to pay the costs... (1263) Ferrago: And recovered the shield. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Well, you might want to hang on to those gems... (1039) ShadowDragon8685: You're going to be building lightsabers shortly, yes? (1283) No Name (exit): 02:08 (1212) Niari: Point. (1263) Ferrago: Good point. (1212) Niari: And I need to upgrade the Reek since it's going to be a 1-person ship. Have a lot of EP if I get rid of the gunnery and laser cannons. (1263) Ferrago: All the crap we've done, and we're not even technically Jedi Knights yet. (1212) Niari: So close... (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Yeah, you guys are close to Jaden's record for the "getting into shit pre-Knighting" race. (1212) Niari: :D (1263) Ferrago: I'm not going to be able to take the actual class until at least a level later than everyone else... (1212) Niari: Im diving straight into it at level 8. Cannot wait to finally get that Dexterity bonus to damage. >.> (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Anyway... (1039) ShadowDragon8685: I need to recruit at least two players. (1263) Ferrago: I'm thinking I'll take either a single level of Assassin or two levels of Saboteur beforehand. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: possibly three, if Nico flakes out on us. (1263) Ferrago: Depending on what feat I take next level up. (1263) Ferrago: With Morco gone, we don't have anyone with Mechanics, so Saboteur might be a good way to go. (1212) Niari: That's what T3 is for! (1212) Niari: Three players? Damn, good luck. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Like I said: if Nico flakes on us. (1212) Niari: Yeah. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Anyway, as far as that starfighter goes... (1039) ShadowDragon8685: It could be an: A-Wing, Delta-7 Aethersprite and hyperspace ring (because it would suck to give you a starfighter without a hyperdrive,) a TIE Advanced x1, or an X-Wing. (1212) Niari: A WING! (1212) Niari: If it's an A Wing, Im so taking it. (1212) Niari: *greedy Jedi* (1039) ShadowDragon8685: What, you wouldn't want an X-Wing? (1263) Ferrago: I am also a greedy Jedi, but I already share the Phoenix with Nico. (1263) Ferrago: Although I'd like to pilot the damn thing once or twice... (1212) Niari: I think A-Wings look cooler. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: You tried that, remember? You almost fucking crashed. (1212) Niari: lol, I remember. (1263) Ferrago: Meh, extraordinary circumstances. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: You nearly smeared six folk across a cargo hold! (1263) Ferrago: Bad rolls. (1263) Ferrago: WELL MAYBE THEY SHOULD'VE BEEN MORE AWARE (1039) ShadowDragon8685: They were. They hit the deck. that's why it was only "nearly". (1212) Niari: I changed my mind, what I thought was an A-Wing was the Delta-7. (1212) Niari: I vote X-Wing. (1212) Niari: lol (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Wait, you thought a Delta-7 was an A-Wing... So now you go for something completely different? :P (1212) Niari: I guess we should be more grateful that they don't hold a grudge. (1263) Ferrago: Does that mean you wanted the Delta-7? (1263) Ferrago: Because he gave both as options. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Actually, I was thinking of rolling fori t. (1212) Niari: Well, the hyperspace ring is kind of a turn off. (1263) Ferrago: Ooh. (1212) Niari: Rolling sounds fair. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Shall we let the Almighty RNG decide? (1212) Niari: Go for it. (1263) Ferrago: Yes. (1263) Ferrago: I'll put on my headdress. Let the ritual begin. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Okay. 1: A-Wing. 2: Delta-7 and ring. 3: Delta-7 without ring.* 4:X-Wing. *No, actually the TIE Advanced X1. [1d4] => [4] = (4) (1039) ShadowDragon8685: The Incom T-65 X-Wing. (1263) Ferrago: X-Wing's a winner! (1039) ShadowDragon8685: I need to make a fucking list of the "assets" you guys have hauled back. (1263) Ferrago: The Random Number God has spoken! (1212) Niari: Nice! (1263) Ferrago: Oh, don't worry, we're all keeping lists. We're taking note of every little baubel you give us so that we can turn it up later when you least expect it. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: I was actually kinda hoping to make it the Tie Ax1. But no worries. (1263) Ferrago: Remember that camoflauge netting? I didn't think you did. Big plans. (1212) Niari: :D (1263) Ferrago: *camouflage (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Right, right. :P (1212) Niari: <----still> has one single solitary Gungan Energy ball. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Oh, sorry... (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Jin-Ol had 6 energy balls and 6 frag grenades on him. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: And since a lot of the crew were Gungan, there's plenty of those to go around. (1263) Ferrago: Energy balls are apparently supercharged by my grenade launcher. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Then there's his power armor, though it might be fitting to give that to Jaz-Am. (1212) Niari: I need to recount how many grenades I have. I think I've only used two out of the original belt of five. (1212) Niari: I concur. (1212) Niari: Which reminds me, Ferrago. (1212) Niari: Since the DM said things are pretty open after this chapter... (1212) Niari: Is there places you want to go? Obviously Naboo is high on the list now. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: You guys are going on a long journey. You're going to roam! (1263) Ferrago: Hmm? (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Well, you're going to Naboo during the downtime, I'd think. (1212) Niari: We're going to play finger-picking songs on our guitar and herd banthas. (1263) Ferrago: Maybe Ferrago could pay his parents a visit. (1212) Niari: Is the downtime going to be played out next week? (1263) Ferrago: Apologize for, y'know, vanishing. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: While that might be nice to play it out, next week we'll need to add the new players, remember? (1212) Niari: As of right now, since Niari doesn't actually have any ties - the only thing she'll eventually want to do is figure out how to take down the Hutt. (1212) Niari: Aye. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Anyway, Niari, did you intend to lay claim to that X-Wing? (1212) Niari: Yeah, I probably am. (1212) Niari: I need to look over the stats and compare them to the Reek. (1212) Niari: But she probably is going to claim it if Ferrago doesn't want it. (1212) Niari: After all, he's the one who took Jin-Ol the fuck down. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Ferrago likes his heavy-ass quadlaser cannons, I think. (1263) Ferrago: I'll let you have it. (1212) Niari: Works for me. Stats the same as the one in the core book? (1039) ShadowDragon8685: No, Starships of the Galaxy. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: Assume that SSotG superscedes core book for all stats. (1212) Niari: Noted. (1039) ShadowDragon8685: I should probably stat out that space station, too. (1212) Niari: Uhm. Which version in SSotG? (1212) Niari: T-65B or T-65XJ3? (1212) Niari: Or the T-65BR? (1039) ShadowDragon8685: B. (1212) Niari: Noted. (1289) Dusk (12, 3) (enter): 02:38 (1212) Niari: Yeah, I think Im going to have to upgrade the shields on this.
