Married in 1619 to landgrave William V, Landgrave of Hesse-Kassel. Regent from 1637 until 1650 as the guardian of her under age son William VI, Landgrave of Hesse-Kassel, a role she filled with impressive skill managing to not only steer Hesse-Kassel safely through the Thirty Years War but to gain both territory and political clout.
