Destiny was a oddly-shaped starship attached to Zirtran's Anchor, itself a space station located in the Phosphura Belt Nebula. It famously provided the home for the mysterious alien species called the Kalai, who rarely, if ever, left the ship, and their half-Human hybrid offspring, the Lethagoes. The ship was named using their language, but most people used the closest approximation in Galactic Basic Standard, "Destiny". The Destiny's inhabitants connected it to Sector Epsilon of Zirtran's Archor during the Imperial period and remained annexed since then, even during the Galactic Civil War.

There were smaller ships housed inside the Destiny—nimble hawk-shaped vessels which had demonstrated an agility beyond that of other starfighters like the Alliance X-wing or the Imperial TIE/LN starfighter. The Destiny's inhabitants connected it to Sector Epsilon of Zirtran's Archor during the Imperial period and remained annexed since then, even during the Galactic Civil War.
