As a member of British Actors Equity for several years Mr. Sterling sat on the selection committee of the Variety Branch. He is also a member of BECTU, the BKA (British Karate Association) and the National Union of Journalists. Mr. Sterling is a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer and also held the title of Junior Mr. International Bodybuilding. His more risky achievements include holding former world records in Martial Arts for Block Breaking & as a Stuntman for a fire stunt (part body burn) & in 2005 he has entered the Guinness Book of Records once Again this time as the leader & organiser of the largest mass plate spinning event in the world as part of one of his corporate team building events Brian is a Martial arts instructor & holds 3 black ‘belts’ in different styles of the martial arts. As a wrestler, Brian travelled to Iceland to wrestle the 6-time World’s Strongest Man, Jon Pall Sigmarsson to promote the play he produced with the Icelandic National Theatre. His work in front of camera combined with his interest in sky diving saw Brian doubling for the likes of ‘James Bond’ & Steve McQueen in some famous TV commercials as well as sky diving from a helicopter for a famous house builder’s commercial. Film & Theatrical work has included working on many stage plays & feature films including the famous Star Trek - The Next Generation TV series at Paramount Studios in Hollywood where Brian lived & worked for a short time. His television work in the UK included a role in a Granada TV drama presentation & presenting on the BBC’s That's Life series As a Film & TV producer, Brian established MajorVision Ltd in the late 1980’s as well as producing numerous corporate programmes for Blue Chip companies, he produced a major UK best selling video release in 1990 and went on to produce 58 independent titles including the merited Porsche Cars 50th Anniversary film In broadcast television, Brian’s company supplies TV crews for the BBC for whom he has worked personally as a director-cameraman on many high profile programmes. He even secured an exclusive interview with US President Bill Clinton at the 1998 G-8 Summit meeting Brian remains active in TV current affairs for the BBC & is often requested for specific work such as in politics for BBC’s political unit. The order of Hereditary Knight Templar of Britannia (HKt.B ) was awarded to Brian for charitable works over the years from within the media. The order of Knight Templar is one of the oldest military orders of Knighthood in existence & dates back to the year 1118. Brian has been directly involved in the production of 7 independent British feature films and The British Film Institute has recently credited Sir Brian Sterling-Vete, MajorVision International and several close fiends & colleagues of Brian’s for their work in pioneering Video & Digital Video Cinematography in the UK & Europe as the new book by Julian Granger of the BFI, will show Pro-Active PR is also an area in which Brian excels. In the autumn & winter of 2003 Brian & his PR colleague Peter Harris, arranged a PR stroke of genius. This was the Creative Excellence award for best documentary at the US Film & TV Festival in Chicago 2001 for the documentary ‘Millennium Bridge’ One of Brian’s companies, Physical Exercise Television (PETV) was formed in the late 1990’s to provide training films to sports professionals & governing bodies such as the National Coaching Foundation, Coachwise & the YMCA PETV now boasts the largest digital database of exercise footage in Europe and still continues to produce between 8 & 15 films per year. As a specialist consultant in certain areas of sport such as weight training & power training, Brian authors & co-authors many of the films & accompanying literature. Brian’s coaching achievements include helping to train 6-time World’s Strongest Man, Jon Pall Sigmarsson for 2 of his title defences. Charitable work has always featured strongly in Brian’s life & in 1986 he was the driving force behind the team that raised over £20,000 for children’s hospital charities. In more recent times he has devoted a good deal of his time to helping a Dyslexia organisation & to both rescuing & rescued animals for BCC. As a reward for his services in helping ex-service people, in particular the veterans of the Welsh Guards Regiment, Brian was proud to be made an honorary member of the Welsh Guards Regiment asc' & has made many firm friends in the regiment. The same can be said of the Scots Guards too & Brian's love of the pipes has resulted in an open invitation to regular pipe practice at his local barracks for the regiment near by one of his homes in Manchester, England. Passionate about his work and skilled in several areas, Brian has undertaken many roles over the years. On 2 occasions he was ‘head hunted’ & persuaded to take a break from TV for 2 years by the US telecom giant, The CellStar Corporation to take the role of European marketing director for their ‘start up project’ which was highly successful & helped develop some valuable international telecom relationships with leaders in the industry.
